Job Notes -- Not Qualified Topic

Hey guys,

Apologies for the rookie question here, but I can't seem to find the answer to this question from previous threads. My team in Hayes (Emporia State) increased its total wins by 1 and raised in the polls significantly over the previous season and I noticed that I still wasn't qualified for a DIAA job. Now, I'm not sure I'm really ready for DIAA so I'm not too worried about moving up, but obviously would like to do it at some point. But, I'm wondering, what does it take to get that almighty "Qualified" job note when transitioning from DII to DIAA? Do I need more wins overall? A CC? Better ranking?

I did read in older threads that job notes were "broken." Does anyone know if that is still the case?

If I looked correctly you only have about 37 wins in that world.  I was always told you need about 45 or so unless you have several CC's or better on the resume.

what ozz said is correct.  You need about 45 wins to jump to DIAA and even then you may not be able to land every open DIAA school.  Getting a few CC's will help you get more jobs if you are around that magical 45 win total.  My coworker wanted to jump to DIAA this season but only had 46 wins and he could only get jobs that were pretty terrible (teams with 4 wins or less the previous season).  He didn't have any CC's in his 4 years so that hurt his chances of getting better jobs.  That being said, you need to win at least 8 games next year before you even think about jumping up :)  and just for future reference.  To jump from DIAA to DIA, its about 85 wins... good luck

Thanks guys, I appreciate your responses. I look to stay in DII at least for another 2 seasons before really pursuing a DIAA job, so this is all very good to hear.

What about 'jumping' from Div III to Div II?

A 7-6 season will pretty much do it. Always did for me anyway.

I agree... I think as long as you have a winning record you should be eligible for some DII jobs

So just one season can do it?  Wow!

It can be but you wont be qualified for the better DII jobs, I would think it would be better to wait 2-3 seasons total then you could get any DII job you wanted... if you have a decent DIII record

Probably one winning season would get you to DII.  Might not be eligible for all available teams if a really good one comes open but you could still move up.

bhouska, I qualified for Chadron State after a 6-7 season at Bates College, so a winning record is not necessary.

Good to note... also GL there with the Eagles... used to coach them in Wilk, can be a brutal area

one season so long as it's not terrible will allow you to move up to DII from DIII. Ozz is right on DII to DIAA.

simply jumping higher isn't always the best thing to do though. learning and getting a feel for certain levels and coaching is key to maintain success.

Thanks... I've got my work cut out for me, as the RMAC in Heisman is a very good conference with lots of human coaches... hopefully I can turn them around.
