Can we add a Sim during the offseason so that we can see how our tweaks are working out. I realize Exhibitions are used by some for this now. Im suggesting a sim where you choose any opponent you want to sim an instant game. Limited to 5 sim "games" and you can NOT sim any team in your conference(this way it is not a scouting tool for next seasons  conference opponents.) Having this sim would also allow us to decide if we need to recruit a different style of QB,RB,WR and so on and determine depth chart issues. Now I have no way to see how my new starting QBs (Senior leaves Junior and Sophomore compete for job) fit into my scheme until the season starts. For instance if the So is better than the Jr. then there is no need for me to try and get a top tier QB in recruiting i can go after a QB that i can develop over the next 3 years. Hope you get the picture.

SO POLL QUESTION IS:

DO YOU LIKE THE IDEA OF HAVING A SIM ENGINE TO TEST YOUR TWEAKS IN THE OFFSEASON.

Unlimited test games vs. yourself.

Sounds good to me.  Although most of everything you mentioned can be figured out in the exhibition games.  Im all for more practice time.

I would love the test feature to comeback. If only against yourself. It would fill in the gap between seasons when you have nothing to do and you could test new game plans if you so choosed.

Calling it a spring game would line up with standard college practice. I love this idea btw.

It would also intimate it being limited to one game. I believe we should be able to test out our settings the same way as we did when we used the test game with our own team.

Fair point, but programs often just keep running different scenarios instead of playing a pure "game" for their spring game. But this is semantics more than policy imo. A feature, whatever we want to call it, where we can test out playbooks against each other, would be fantastic.

guys --- I appreciate everyone trying to make this more enjoyable, however we have to remember that our players are STUDENT Athletes.  As a coach, especially at my non-Football factory schools (such as Yale and Norwich) I want my kids to focus on studies during the off-season.  Most of these kids are not GOING PRO (just check out the draft results --- only DIA kids - and many BCS schools).

So, say "no" to spring games, say "yes" to academics and letting our players experience traditional college life during the limited off-season.
