Oh man, Lee is gone too, wtf.  I don't wanna play this year.

Pena gives you the best shot you've had ever had in HRs.

You are pretty screwed in the starting pitching categories, however, barring injuries - and I've still got Oswalt in reserve.

While we think about discussing, I'm gonna go ahead and get my first cut at player picks up now in case I forget by the weekend. Utley being injured with no good timetable for a return makes this more interesting.

yeah, I put him in that spot.
the pitching staff has gots lots of issues, but if Dempster and Z return to 08/09 form I feel pretty good about them.  I had to use Garza by default, ugh.

I didn't say your guys were going to suck... just that you were screwed in the starting pitching categories for teh bet.

For instance, Dempster might be good this year, but he's up against Halladay - that category is mine if Halladay is healthy. Actually though, it's not as bad as I thought - wins can be flaky, and Zambrano should be close to Hamels in Ks, if he doesn't implode again.

I didn't say they were going to suck either, just that they've got issues.  I had a hard time choosing guys for the categories because I have no clue which version of them is going to be on the mound this year.

So, what else do you want to bet on?

I say we put a couple bucks out there and see who comes closest to the date of

a) the date the Cubs are eliminated from playoff contention
b) the date the Pirates get their 82nd loss ensuring them of 19 straight losing seasons

3/31/2011 11:21 AM
Those aren't really Phillies v. Cubs bets.
3/31/2011 11:22 AM
fine.

Maybe we just let the extra money go for now and see if there's anything interesting we want to bet on around the All-Star break or something.
3/31/2011 11:29 AM
that works.  although i am pretty confident that both a) from above will both be fact by the All-Star break and b) won't be too far behind.

I meant anything interesting in terms of Phillies v. Cubs.

Keep up.

Heh - so SB will be Victorino vs. nobody?  I think that's a point for me!
