thats cool, i respect your side of it. but trading picks has already started in MLB. its a new rule this year, i know its at a limited pace but its there. trading picks isnt about just my opinion or yours, probably somewhere in the middle after more people give us new ideas. most sports allow trading picks, and man, that looks like fun.
It's VERY limited in MLB.
thats how it starts and why not follow most sports that trade picks? because Selig is a dinosaur?
It's a different argument.  If you want to argue MLB should allow trading draft picks, go for it.  I would disagree, but you can make the argument.

MLB doesn't allow the trading of draft picks, so it's one reason why I don't want it in HBD.

sure but the trend is the young strars like Bryce Harper and Mike Trout are not spending as much time in the minors anymore.

MLB DOES allow trading picks, limited but thats how it starts.

to everybody who told me trading draft picks is restricted, i know. but thats no reason to explore how much fun it could be in HBD. i like the discussion, very productive. like i said at 1st we can make it very restrictive just like you cant spend all your money on year 2, 3, 4 and 5 when u try to acquire free agents so as to not ruin the franchise. i can see so many trade offers that get rejected right now that would get approved by including picks.
How much fun it could be = how much it could help you get value out of your draft picks which are a total waste now due to your scouting strategy.

It's hard to take you seriously given your past on this issue and the fact that you came in claiming to have taken a vote in which "most" of your world wants to trade picks when it looks like all of 3 people chimed in to the discussion and vote.
we clearly stopped voting after 3 or 4 guys talked me into stopping trying to implement this on our own. i agreed and we stopped voting. i was trying to become the 1st world ever to trade picks, and that would have been our hook in the classifieds. but it seems just about impossible to implement without WIS putting it into the system. like i said before, personally i would change my 0/0 stategy of HS/College scouting to increase the value of my picks. ive hit the jackpot before at 4/4 but almost never when at 0/0
Everyone can see the world chat if they want.   You had 2 or 3 owners speak up in favor and that's it - you have no idea what "most" of the world thinks.

First world to trade draft picks?  Are you revising your own history now?

MLB allows trading picks in a very unique scenario that does not exist in HBD.

but it allows trading picks so it does exist in the real world. and WIS is always looking to make this game better and more fun. trading picks sure would make this game more fun and attract more customers...

I would argue it doesn't make the game more fun, or better.  And I would argue it actually hurts the business.

2, 3, even half a dozen players would hardly constitutes a trend.

dont take if from me, Jayson Stark was talking about this.

and hes probably MLB's future Commissionner.

It may make the game more fun for some.   Maybe not so much for others.   I doubt it would make the game "better" or attract more customers.

As long as there are service time rules in place, keeping players out of FA for 6 seasons, teams will not be using many 19 y/o players on their BL team.    Harper is an exception not a rule.

In a responsible world, trading draft picks would cause fewer problems.  But, overall, it would change the landscape of HBD drastically and, quite honestly, I'm not sure it would be for the better.

I'd suggest the trading of 1 pick only, none after prospects are released and current season only.    I'd probably limit how many picks a team can acquire also.
