This is pretty much what Obama wants to do.

Tie Bush and Romney together.

He needs to keep running against Bush.

The media allies of the Democrats have done a pretty good job of spreading the lie that the collapse was Bush's fault.

The question you have to ask yourself is was your life better when the Republicans ran things (2005) or when Democrats ran things (2009).

Here's the thing about the tax returns:   Smokescreen to avoid talking about real issues because Obama is not good at them.  
What they'd discover if they got Mitt's tax returns from age 12 to current:  He's rich.   He hires the best accounts to make sure he pays the least taxes legally.  I'm sure everyone would do the same if they could afford it.

Everyone who is more worried about jobs and the economy than how much they can get from the government is going to vote for Romney.

1 Bush never destroyed the economy. This is a liberal lie. I will ask again what intitives that Bush supported led to the crash.

2 He did try to slow the Obama agenda. Most of what Obama wanted he got and the country is still in crisis.

3 He is trying to save Medicare and SS. Obama has no ideas on that topic.
