I could go back and find where I asked if there are any TV stations/shows that run without government funding but it's rather pointless.   I have about 400 channels.  I'm sure some are looking for good people.    If PBS went under(and I doubt it would), the workers at PBS have at least 400 places to look for employment.
Sure, last I heard there was a surplus of jobs and a shortage of qualified workers.

I think he's saying Obama didn't understand economics.

The standard you (or whoever) are holding Obama to (his promise to cut the deficit in half his first term) is exactly what I'm talking about. That would have thrown us back into a recession.

Would you rather cut the deficit in half or stay out of another recession?

So Obama's promise to cut the deficit in half would have been fiscally irresponsible?
Call it whatever you want, cutting the deficit in half would have come at the expense of economic recovery.

Good people can find jobs.  If there's an industry that isn't hurting, it's television.    How much did Charlie Sheen get to do a show on some 2nd rate cable network?

Then why did Obama promise to do that?

I don't know. I'm just glad he changed his mind.

Sure, that's comparable. Charlie Sheen and a production assistant for Sesame Street.

Given that, do you have a lot of confidence in him to know what's best economically for the country?

More confidence than if he had went ahead with the plan and put us back into a recession.

Did Sheen seem like the most unstable person on earth for about 6 months?   Would you have hired him?

Good people can find jobs.

So what? That's still $450 million dollars disappearing from the economy ($550 billion if you cut the deficit in half). It has an effect.

Except it isn't.   It's simply moving to the private sector.

Produce a product people want and they will buy it.

BulIshit. It's not moving to the private sector. The money is evaporating. It's not being given back in tax cuts.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

How do TV shows make money if they don't get it from the gov't?

Are you suggesting that PBS would disappear and the current employees would not find work or simply replace other workers?
