Marriage is a fundamental aspect of human society.

Which is why we shouldn't deny gay couples the right to marry.
Let me fix that for you:

"Which is why we shouldn't deny gay couples the right to participate in civil unions with equal benefits".

There.  That's better.

I don't think it's better.

Let them marry. Your pie remains the same.

So you think the same of your team name as you do of your marriage?

OK then.
I don't think he said that.

Your judgement is questionable.

Keep your fingers out of my pie.

Explain how your pie changes? It's still apple, right? Regardless of what anyone else calls their pie.

Marriage is a fundamental aspect of human society.

Well so is food.  Are you up in arms about the unnatural, processed food that's completely different from the way food used to be processed and eaten, for tens of thousands of years?  Food is eating pigs and cows and deer.  This processed mac and cheese I'm eating is NOT food.  Right?

Or is marriage different? What is it about marriage that makes you unwilling to change your definition of it?
6/20/2013 12:41 PM
Go ahead, start a thread about processed food.  Maybe I'll respond.  Or maybe I won't.

What is it about marriage that makes you unwilling to change your definition of it?

Asked, and answered.  Repeatedly.
6/20/2013 1:21 PM
So you won't tell me why the changing definition food is different from the changing definition of marriage.  OK.
6/20/2013 1:29 PM
It's inconvenient for tec to admit that his argument is ridiculous.
6/20/2013 1:39 PM
Fine.

Processed food is still food.

Same sex legalized unions is not marriage, because marriage is between a man and a woman.  Much like how blueberry pie is not apple pie, because apple pie is made with apples and not blueberries.

Food is something you hunt and kill, or something that grows from the ground.  Food isn't something you make in a lab....right?  Because we're going on tens of thousands of years of history of what food was, not this new fad of processed "food."

For you, what is it about marriage that makes it different from food in this case?
6/20/2013 1:47 PM

Asked, and answered.

I'm not going to continue to play your game.

We serve apple pie only in my state.

It's not a game.  I'm trying to understand you, and right now I don't.

"Processed food is still food."

Right, and I can say "same-sex marriage is still marriage."  And you'd say, no, marriage is between man and woman.  And I'd say, no, food is something you hunt and kill, or something you eat that grew from the ground.  It's been a fundamental part of human society for tens of thousands of years.

What am I missing?

So you think your food holds the same emotional value as your marriage.

OK then.

Good luck with that marriage thing.
