Unless this happens every day in your neighborhood, you're overreacting.
The same could be said concerning gun bans no?

Although I do agree a terrorist running loose is probably not a good reason to rush to a gun shop.

This specific situation isn't likely to present itself again in a lifetime.

Whoa.

"Unless this happens every day in your neighborhood, you're overreacting."

How many school/theater shooting rampages happen every day?
There's no need for Joe Citizen to own a HCAW.  Under any circumstance.

We went over this around 4 months ago.

You're not answering the question, BL.

It seems to happen once every couple of months.  Not every day.

Yes, it is "comforting" to have a firearm in home.   Buglary, home invasion, etc, etc. are "real", everyday threats.

Buy a shotgun.   You're not familiar with guns.   It's hard to miss with a shotgun.
That is a very good idea.  I know nothing about it to be honest.  It's easier to get one as well is it not?
Laws vary from state to state but, in all likelihood, there's no registration process for a shotgun.  Walk in, plop down your money, walk out.

Nevermind, found the necessary paperwork online.  It all looks pretty straightforward and simple.  I have a gun club about 1/2 mile from my house and a gun shop about 1/2 mile from that so this shouldn't be too difficult hopefully.
