Damn.  48 is NOT young.   MIght want to expand your stalker search.
I let it go. Mike brought it back up.

I did the research.    Would you call someone two years younger than you "a young 'un"?   Assuming, of course, you'd call anyone that.

If the guy was a congressman, I might.

Young, in this case, is relative to other members of congress, not yourself.

Was he the guy you voted for?

And...research??? You knew the state. There are only 7 members of the HOR in South Carolina. At the time of the 2012 election, 1 district had no incumbent, 1 had a Democrat incumbent, and 4 had white GOP as incumbents. That leaves 1.

Yeah, I looked it up.  Just like you did.

FWIW, one of my pet peeves is someone calling a college team "young".   Of course they're young.  They're in college.    48 is my age.

Yeah, they're 20 year olds. Relative to other college students, they aren't young.  Relative to congressman, 40's is young.

Are you denying that he is the guy you voted for?

Yeah, I looked it up.  Just like you did.

Difference being, I didn't know the state ahead of time.

"I voted for a young minority incumbent. "
"That guy isn't young."

therefore...

Eh, I think Scott's the guy. No one else fits. Unless young minority GOP incumbent never existed in the first place.

Here is a map of the senate elections in 2012.

There are 6 states in the eastern time zone without a senate election:

New Hampshire
North Carolina
South Carolina
Georgia
Kentucky
Alabama

Of those 6 states, there was ONE male minority GOP incumbent running for congress. Tim Scott, district 1, South Carolina.

Are you sure I did?

Let's put this another way.

You said "I consider Republican candidates."
I said "The hell you do."
You began hammering me about voting Dem.
I said "Yeah, I voted against all incumbents but one in 2012" and threw out some details "young minority" as the reason why.
You went off on another tangent about Dems.
I repeated myself because you didn't seem to understand what I said.
You did some research and said "That's the guy!!"
I'm saying "I'm 50.  48 is not young."

And here we are.

Do you think I know the House Reps from SC?

Isn't Scott a senator now?
10/23/2013 1:09 PM
Well, since you voted for him...

He is a Senator. But he ran for Congress, won, and then was named to the Senate this year as a replacement for Demint.
