If you have a great pitcher with 32 durability but only 63 stamina, how do you use him to maximize innings? Starter or long relief?

What pitch count would you give him if he is in your starting rotation?

Starter.   I'd start with 60-70 and, if he was recovering quickly enough, increase it.  If he was ineffective at the higher PC, I'd reduce it and pitch him every 4th game.

how long are the 'cycles' for the medical bug? iow, how long does it take for one recovery period to happen? and is there any downside to leaving a guy on the dl to keep regaining his lost ratings (other than losing out on the assumed performance if he was off the dl)?

You should get the first one around day 58(if he's injured longer than that) and the 2nd one like a normal development cycle.   If he's injured less than 60 days, he'll get one a day or two before he's fully recovered and the 2nd a day or two before he's eligible to come off the DL.    If you don't need the player, there's no harm in leaving him on the DL.   I usually take them off after they get a "regular season" development cycle.  Unless I'm saving a spot on the 40(DL players do not count against the 40).

I'm guessing they're aiming for two.  Looking at the remaining teams, I think it's possible.

Why does Bo Humphries suck?

Mid 60s splits and one pitch over 75.    That said, I'd expect him to be better.     Maybe 1.35-1.40, 4.25-4.75.    Basically league average pitcher.
