I know you're not into social media, but I'll ask the question anyway.
A non-immediate family member is inadvertently posting what can only be characterized as gay porn on his social media page. He's an older man, has never come "out", I doubt he's ever acted on them, but clearly has latent homosexual tendencies. He would probably be mortified if he knew that he was inadvertently sharing these photos.
My wife and I have "unfollowed" him, and I went into my son's social media account and unfollowed him there as well, as I don't wan my son seeing these pictures.
Should I say something to him about "did you know that you're doing this?", and if so, how do I do it discretely without completely embarrassing him?
A followup on this. I eventually did play the "was your Facebook account hacked" card, and he came out to me as gay.
Whatever. I ended up talking on the phone to him after his "coming out" email to me, and we're cool.
However . . . yesterday, he sent me a second "coming out" email in which he informed me that he has two (or maybe three . . . it's very confusing) other "spirits" living in his body. They are the spirits of Japanese Kamakazi pilots who died in the closing days of WWII, and were instructed to enter his body by Jesus Christ about a week after he was born (July 1945). They (he and these other beings) are now working together on "missions" every day to "protect our Sacred Homeland" (i.e. Japan). He lives in a retirement home in Mississippi, but he also tells me that his spirits travel daily between Mississippi and Japan, I assume to carry out said missions (I have no idea what those are supposed to be).
Obviously, some severe mental health issues going on here.
My question: unless and until there appears to be any risk to the physical health of either himself or others, do I just go along with this, knowing he's completely nuts, or should I try to contact somebody down there for some sort of intervention? He has no other family (he's alienated everybody but me with what up until now was viewed as eccentricities, but is now something much, much more), and I doubt he has any close friends where he is, and I think he's spending all of his days on his computer.
