I have an ifa i was looking at. He is a pitcher with 90 splits, throws hard and is accurate. But his stamina projects at a 5. Is he even worth going after or just stay away?

Also his durability is a 65.

I wouldn't be interested.  He can only be a specialized vR or vL guy.  He might be able to throw to one batter every other day.  But if he doesn't cost you anything sign he and see.

I have a similar pitcher, not quite as good splits, but he performs just as Moe says.  I suppose on a very good team, or in a playoff game, he could be very useful, but on a poor team I eventually needed his roster spot for other players.  Waived him to send him down and no one else wanted him anyway.

He can still be worthwhile, this is one of my favorite players ever: Gerald Ward

If I'm reading it right, you use him as a platoon closer.  I would guess that's the absolute best use you could have for this kind of player.

I'd think that for some owners it would come down to four questions:
1. How many innings per season could I get out of him?
2. How effective would those innings be?
3. How much would it cost in salary for those innings?
4. Do I have a better alternative for that roster spot?

I actually had him set as Closer A (with no Closer B), do not come in until the 9th inning, but in half the games he entered he'd get 1 or 2 batters out and then got replaced.  I had his pitch limits set to 5(10).  It was a very effective 40 innings every season and he was always cheap because of his low overall rating.

Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Santiago Machado has been almost unhittable in Memphis.    But 0/64 won't get you but 25-30 innings.  5/65 might get 40ish.

You just have to decide if you have room for a 40 inning pitcher.  Depends on the team.
