Draft Projections/DITR Topic

So I was going through the draft projections, just bored a bit looking to see if there was someone I should have took.  I sorted by P2, and saw a guy who had pretty good pitches, decent control and was ranked pretty low.  So I opened up his profile to see what round he went, and he went in the 23rd round... to me.  So then I open up his player card off the GM page, and saw he was a DITR.  So I compared my draft projections to his advanced scouting projections, and they're pretty much the same.  They must have updated his projections on the draft list after he got the DITR bump.  Just thought it was interesting.

Yes.  Relief pitchers and defensive catchers, mostly.

Is there any reasoning some players are DITR players or is it all random?

I don't think I've ever seen 4 pitches above 80.

*edit, by 80 I mean 86

Curious as to why it doesn't show his DITR icon on his pic

And BTW good case for a "mediocre splits / good results" pitcher

His DITR came in S13 which was like 12 seasons ago, before WIS added the DITR icon.
That didn't happen until maybe 6 or 7 seasons ago tops.

So i am guessing that pitch rating is a little more important than vsl and vsr?

You probably want to read this thread: http://www.whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?TopicID=468414&TopicsTimeframe=30 at the conclusion of which, you will still have many questions. There are many theories on that:

1. Control before anything else,
2. VSR/VSL before anything else,
3. Extraordinary Control + Extraordinary P quality + Extraordinary GB compensates for poor VSR/VSL
4. and the best that I have read, Pitchers are hard, all the ratings work in combination
