In our recently merged world, Smoltz, the #2 pick in Season 1 wasn't signed by the team that drafted him. He was a college senior, so now he's showing in the free agency for Season 2. The player is going to get a big league deal. Let's assume it's going to be 5 years, for 10 million each. My question is this: What happens to his arb years? Do those kick in AFTER the 5 seasons? Will be have 1 year of arb after the 5? Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure you're right, he'll go to arb one time after his five year deal.

Edit: that assumes you put him directly into the majors.  Arbitration is big league service time related.
