With a little more seriousness, I suppose one could do that for any team (or league), and come up with an "average runs saved" by a plus play.  I would imagine there would be a lot of assumptions and subjectivity involved, and that it might need to be broken down by position.  But I have neither the time or interest in doing that, at least in the immediate future.

We're now up to 15 + plays in 14 games.  Leading the way is my LF (82, 90, 96, 96) with 6 already under his belt.

I didn't mean anything extreme just my quick theory would be: count a + play as a guy robbed of a single. Don't worry about the extra out, ghost runners take 1 base for a single, and score on a double or better. It's quick math to give a relative stat as long as the data stays consistant.

How many bean balls have your high temper and low temper teams taken?

Through 13 minor league games:

High temper batters HBP - 2
Low temper batters HBP - 8

What are you trying to learn with your BL team?
9/9/2015 2:53 PM
It wasn't so much a matter of learning anything as much as it was doing something extremely different and somewhat interesting, knowing that I wouldn't be leaving behind a damaged franchise for next season's owner, since there won't be a next season.

Perhaps as the season progresses and more "data" is collected, I'll try to do some sort of analysis.  Exactly what that might be, I'm not sure yet.

FYI . . . I took a team in the other test world as well.  Playing in an extreme hitters park (Hartford), punting defense completely and am loading up the ML roster with 90+ power hitters.  Let's see how many home runs I can hit in a season.

As the season moves along, post the player stats.   If nothing else, I'll run them thru my PPPS to see how much better they are, defensively, than an "average" guy.

That's what I plan to do.

What do you think of the mobile format so far?
9/12/2015 11:35 AM
It's not an earth-shattering game changer, but it is better than trying to deal with the current interface on a mobile device.

The organization of all the current menus and sub-menus is still there, basically unchanged.  But the entire format has got a fresh new look.  Some nice new features, such as "drag and drop" for lineups.  The pop-up dialog for games is very nice, it much easier to go through the play by play of a game on a mobile device than it was before.

There's still a number of bugs that need to be corrected before it's ready to be rolled out.

What is your teams record after 25 games?
9/13/2015 2:51 PM
12-13.  We started strong (10-5), then went on an L8, and are now on a W2.

Team pitching has a league best OAV of .234 despite a middle of the road staff.

Through 37 minor league games, my "high-temper" experiment seems to be a complete waste of time.  Only 2 ejections all season.  Not sure if it's worth tracking any further to say "meh, nothing to see here".
9/17/2015 8:39 PM
Your 1B is 5-5. Seems like a silly decision for a defensive team........
