I'll start off

why did the T-Wolves just sign JJ Barea for 4 years at 5m per? they have Rubio, they have Ridnour and they have so many other needs

the blazers just signed Jamal Crawford for two years at 5m per -

and hey now the twolves are bringing Bonzi Wells! nice

If "my" Lakers don't win it all, then I couldn't care less who does, as long as it isn't the Heat or the Celtics.

kahnnnnnn gonna kahnnnnnnn

jj barea makes no sense for them

i was secretly hoping they'd trade kevin love for dwight and d williams, rubio, and other crap for chris paul.  woulda been cool.

Celtics got almost as screwed as the Lakers with the David West fall out - would have been a nice pick up

meanwhile Nene didnt get to cash in the way he could with Dwight Howard weighing over everybodies heads

Billups pick-up for Clippers is nice

Is Baron really hurt or is he 'dont pick me up off the waiver wire I want to go to a contender' hurt?

also sad about Roy

if the Blazers amnesty'd him instead of letting him med out it was a nice gesture

Injury could be exaggerated  I suppose, but Baron surely has the appropriate combination of injured, overweight, and apathetic to prevent any team from claiming him.

I think Chandler to the Knicks was a brilliant move. With him, Amar'e, and Melo, they will be in the running for a Finals appearance for the first time in a long time.

They're a bit of a longshot because Stat and Melo are insanely overrated, but it definitely was a good move and it puts them in the picture of teams that could possibly win the East with Miami, Chicago, Boston, and Orlando (if they keep Dwight).

I too echo this sentiment.

Well, I'll disagree somewhat on Melo.  Denver took the healthy Lakers super team to 6 and easily could have won the series.  Chuck calls Melo the league's best pure scorer and I would have to agree having watched him a lot while living in CO.

Thing is, he is not a flashy player at all.  You'll rarely find him on highlight reels, etc.  But he'll get you a very quiet 30 points.  Not many in the league that can do that night in, night out.

Amare really shrank last season.   Put Tyson in the mix though and they could be dangerous...but who is the team leader?  Can Melo be that guy?

How do you figure Carmelo is a better pure scorer than Kevin Durant (who scores more and is more efficient)?

Melo could be better than he is.  So could Amare.  Both are somewhat lazy players.

yeah that's the one guy that absolutely is right there and is a player I would 100% rather have than Melo.

Remember those are Chuck's words, not mine and I don't think it is stat-based at all.  More that Melo has a few more moves given his greater time in the NBA.  Plus a bigger body down low, yet can knock down the 3 with ease.

Well, neither has a good passing or rebounding skill set, so they are never going to be a LBJ type of player.  They can't take over a game as easily so they really don't even try.  Kind of Karl Malone-ish.

but neither can Durant really.  Westbrook was the hero there just as often.  Dirk was the best scorer last season anyway (with the phantom calls of course.)
