Sorry we nixed that trade... have the #1 pick Topic

anybody else find it "funny" that the Hornets won the lottery this season?

That trade rejection didn't hurt the Hornets, they traded Paul away anyway. The thread title would be appropriate if the Rockets won it.

i don't find it funny at all

i do find it hilarious that the bobcats are going to walk away with andre drummond as their consolation prize for the worst season ever.  lol jordan.

and why should stern be sorry he nixed that trade and made a way better one?

demps should be the one apologizing for being a worse GM than stern.

better in what way? he got a couple picks and the right to negotiate with Eric Gordon for a young all star

and yeah Herr Stern, the fix is in

better in the way that he didn't get saddled with the trifecta of AIDS known as Scola/KevMart/Odom and actually got assets!

EG is a lock to stay in NOLA, #10 pick not as good as expected but still not bad.

the lakers got more out of Houston for Derek Fisher

Stop reaching.

The Hornets getting value this year didn't matter because they were tanking anyway (and successfully so!), and it's not like EG only playing 2 games was foreseeable anyhow.  Nevertheless they now have 4-5 seasons of him upcoming as the #1 scoring option to complement their defensive beast in the paint, and they get a flier on a decent prospect at #10 overall.  This is unequivocally better than overpaying ****** washed up vets- it's not very hard to do the math here.

I've been saying since January that the NBA wouldn't let Davis go to the Bobbies...wasn't surprised at all.

How about, they need to get rid of the lottery and to make winning worthwhile (or attempt to as opposed to tanking) offer some kind of team/player payout for League Rank (W-L) like the EPL does...purposely losing games is terrible and not competitive.

Awesome prediction, only had a 75% chance of coming true without riggage!  Epic!

Keep the lottery, but unweight the system so the worst team has the same odds as the 14th worst. Problem solved.

I think this makes it worse...the 14th worst team shouldn't be getting the #1 pick...hell they might even have a winning record, ala Houston this year I beleive.

Why does Charlotte deserve more lotto balls than Houston?  They didn't even bother with trying to be good, whereas the Rockets at least made an honest attempt at being decent.

And there's the crux, there has to be an incentive for winning, but the 17th best team in the league can't be getting the #1 pick from their position
