you should get together with the lakers and figure out how to pry Devin Harris out of Utah and send him to LA as part of that last deal
No real incentive for Boston to include L.A., though I suppose they could probably take both the Lakers picks this summer.
are you dumb? seriously dude - sense of humor check

Wow that Rondo guy is sure "difficult"...  Better ship him out before he drags down the big 3 dinosaurs any more (it's his fault that PP shoots 43 percent?).   Since when are "triple double threat" and "trade bait" used to describe the same player?  Craziness.

yeah, pretty unthinkable to trade the 3rd best player on a .500 team even though he has an all-star reputation and might fetch a solid return.  how could that ever work out favorably?

we'll send you metta and mcroberts for him

I really don't think it will remotely happen, but tbh I'm really feeling the Rondo + Bass for Pau trade idea for the Celtics.  The more I think about it, the less of an impact player Rondo is and with Pau to bolster our interior D + rebounding, I really think it'd make the Celtics the 3rd best team in the East.  We're only 2 games behind Philly, schedule is prob too tough to win the division with the stat quo but we can prob pull it off with that roster upgrade.

I can live with Ainge passing it up if he doesn't want to get older, but he better get a real good young player (i.e. Batum) or a stud in the draft out of a Rondo deal if he does.

I dont like it for the Lakers at this point - I'd rather they just use the the mavs first on sessions and maybe sign arenas or whatever to see if he can give them anything off the bench
3/5/2012 12:10 PM
I think making that move for Sessions would be best for you guys.  I would not sign Arenas though- he's just going to throw up a bunch of bricks.  Old, washed up PG's who made their cake on being good scorers and can't let go of the fact that they now suck at scoring are disastrous.  Look at how bad Cassell and Starbury were for the Celtics, and Arenas was nothing short of a nightmare for lolando.

yeah but he had the blood of virgins shot into his knees or something like that

Don't laugh; it seems to have worked pretty well for that Kobe guy.

3rd best huh?  Playing for the Trembling Hills Old Folks home?

PP is geezer city.  17 points a game @ 43% is supposed to impress anyone?

Ray is still there, but never done much by himself.  Garnett is great for 25-30 mins a game- wow.  If not for other player's injuries, Rondo has 3 rings.

Nothing circular about that argument...

lol seriously

badja, trust me, rondo is good but he's not the bees knees.  he's barely a top 10 PG in the league- KG and PP have both had their moments this year, they aren't doing so badly all things considered, not like they have fallen off a cliff.  but both of them (and Ray) take a step back, Rondo takes a step forward, the team takes like 20 steps back- who do you think is making the biggest impact?  why do you think nobody wants to give the celtics anything useful in a trade?

Plus, there are so many reports about how difficult he is to deal with and coach.  He was clearly in pouty mode all of last year after Perk was traded.  His outside shot and foul shooting hasn't improved at all (which brings up some red flags).  And a bunch of other attitude red flags.

The reality is people would overlook the attitude if he brought consistent high level play every game, but he just doesn't.  He takes entire games off and even in the games where he brings it for the most part, he still takes parts off.  His contract is very reasonable for what he brings, but no one is going to build a team around him because his consistency is just bad (along with that outside shot).

I know he has his limitations and is disappointing at times.  But he's not a shooter.  He's a true PG who can defend and has the 2nd best assist percentage in the league.  Everyone is unreliable such as KG and Ray going 6-22 in game 4 last year.

and weren't they all pouty last year?  And with good reason...he saw Ainge cripple the team for a title run.  They were (and still are) badly in need of an inside presence after the trade.  The trade just made them worse, period.  But it comes down to all his surrounding players getting hurt, old and or traded away.

Having that many assists on a relatively slow team is pretty impressive.  I would guess that the reason there has been no trade is due to Boston's price being high.

lol at Ainge crippling the team.

Perk was pretty bad post-trade, and Sasha was our top wing off the bench before acquiring Green, plus we got a friggin 1st round pick.  It was a kickass trade and Rondo had to be a whiny little **** about it.

Having that many assists is slightly less impressive when you watch him play and see how much he values his assist totals so people like you oooh and awe over him.
