Odom turned into that after the nixed trade when he went into super baby nova before that his value was much higher but sure use hindsight to make your argument Im sure David Stern is psychic like that
and while Scola's contract is problematic Martin's expires after next season and aside from youth (5 years, and Martin at 28 still has some burn) Gordon is maybe better but not by that much and he hasnt played a full season in 3 years so what's all that worth?
and while we're on the subject of Gordon, he already turned down a 4 year 50m offer from the Hornets so dont kid yourself - if someone wants to dump a truck full of money at his door he's gone 5th year or not
Kevin Martin is a bad NBA player, nobody should want him at that price tag expiring or not. He's one of the worst defensive players in NBA history, so when his scoring fell off a lil bit last year his value went to complete crap.
I'm pretty sure the Lakers were using that broken trade as an excuse for Odom, because apparently he got mindfucked over the offseason and just wasn't engaged at all. And whether the Lakers had an excuse or not, they couldn't sell him for more than a crap pick so why would the Hornets be able to? That trio of vets would have arguably been the worst haul for any superstar traded in his prime in the history of sports.
And yeah, Gordon's restricted + Hornets have no reason to not match.
