That was my initial thought as well, but his regular season numbers were great.   The Heat don't need him to do much more than stay healthy and shoot from the corner.  Can't believe he's 37.

Congrats to your Lakers felon.   Nash is a nice get.

Smart move by Ray.  No way he stays in Boston more than a year without getting traded anyway so might as well choose his own destiny.  Must have been wise with his money to turn down so much, but FL has no income tax either.  Miami just got a lot better.
Boston offered him twice the annual money and a full no trade clause.  Apparently, he doesn't get along well with Rondo and he was still ****** they traded him at the deadline last year (memphis backed out last minute).  In other words a whiny little *****.  He told Boston he would stay for a 3 yr, 27 million dollar contract and he still wanted a no trade clause.  Good riddance at that.

Bitter much? You make it seem like Ray owes something to the Celtics.

his regular season shooting numbers were great but that's about it - the rest of his contributions were average/mediocre and in the play-offs he was a non-factor (injury attribution) or the Cs might have done more than put a scare in the heat - Im more worried about the rumored interest in Camby

Nash is nice I agree - they still need to put a couple more pieces together though

Ryan Anderson sign and trade to Hornets for Gustavo Ayon

Wow, that's bad for ORL.  I guess they are fixing to be a lottery team once again.

Looking at Ayon last season though he looks pretty good so far.

come on houston dont you S&T camby to the Heat - send him to the Knicks

Hey, how about LA and Houston do a double sign-and-trade with Camby and Sessions.

Magic logic:

Jameer Nelson: 6M+/year = Good
Ryan Anderson: 8M+/year = Bad

This is just as bad as the Bass-BB Davis trade last season.

Pretty sure Houston can sign anyone outright since they're so far below the cap.

9M for Jeff Green! Ouch. I know he was with Boston for half a season, but did anyone in management actually watch him play? He's an awfully awful defensive player.

I have concerns all around with Boston's off season.  I am definitely worried they will be a slightly better version of Detroit and stuck in mediocrity for the next couple of years and they now have no cap space to work with next summer or the year after.  The status quo seemed like the wrong choice to make.  Hopefully it works out, but I am not warm and fuzzy so to speak.

i could live with it for one year since our other options to fill out the bench are so bad

but for 4 years is lolbad and inexcusable.

I think the notion that Howard, Johnson , Williams gives the Nets a "Big 3" that rivals Miami is insane....

I read one report that said the Howard deal would make Brooklyn an instant threat to the Heat's crown
