bs - he's out of position and out of sync - there are teams that would definitely make a move for him and could benefit from doing so
For scraps or to get rid of a bad contract.  I would be shocked if the Lakers got any sort of real value for a player that looks like crap and is owed 38 million dollars.

you would be

minnesota would do something significant in a heartbeat

and the 38m is this year and next which means that it's actually a plus value for any team looking to dump

Minnesota won't give up Love, Rubio, Pekovic, or AK47.  I'm sure Minnesota would give up Derick Williams and a bunch of mid-level salary guys for Gasol, but that isn't real value, which is the point I was making.  Gasol has no real value around the league.  His play has declined a great deal and he is owed a ton of a cash over the next two years, which limits his movability because the teams that might actually want him are pretty much at the luxury tax limit (and with the new penalties would be paying far more than his salary).  It isn't like a team like the Bobcats will want Gasol given his age and their current team makeup.

If the Lakers want to move Gasol they are going to have to settle for mid-level type players to help their depth like a Green, Bass, Lee trade with Boston or something similar to that.

Boston needs him the most with their lack of boards.  He'll be a legit double -double .500 guy for a few years.  If Boston wants to take a shot while Pierce is still on the court, they should try him.

minnie might not give up Love or Rubio but I think they might give up AK (the lakers neither want nor need Pek) and there are certainly other teams that could and would make a better offer than the redundant overpaid bullshit you mention

he's a legit 17-20ppg & 9 or 10 boards guy right now in the right system and enough touches so yeah he could help boston - boston does not have the pieces however - no one wants to pay jeff green 8m per for the next 4 years

LOL at Dwight.  Damn baby.  Love how he just threw his team under the bus.

Good for Pau for sitting out.  He should demand a trade after Kobe shot his mouth off like that.   BTW, pretty clear that Dwight is not the second best player in the league by a long shot.

who in their right mind would have put him ahead of James and Durant.

No one ever said Deano was in his right mind.

Lakers will turn this around when Gasol and Nash come back, but man that defense is awful.
12/9/2012 11:51 PM
Wow Nash makes a big difference IMO.  At least 5 extra ppg.  11 dimes his first game back.  Offensive juggernaut.  With Pau and Dwight in the paint defense has a chance too.
