Steve Nash 06-07 Suns PG 23.0 57.3 45.3 61.3 1.3 9.2 38.7 0.9 0.1

Ruled open leagues?

Look at those advanced numbers... Even by today's standards, it'd be solid (40+ orb%, 90+ drb%, 70+ ast%).  Too much usage?  Maybe not.  16.5 usage points... 106 cumulative usage... can't remember but it seems like all four routinely got all of their possessions... Can sly or anyone that dominated with this squad confirm?

Lol- Nice! I honestly can't give you specifics on whether or not they got all their possessions, but I have to believe they did. I ran that squad 5 times with various bench guys and won 4. Those squads were pre-advanced stats, yes?

nah... they were after advanced stats but we didn't put the emphasis on them yet that we do now.

Just this morning I was trying to remember the pre-advanced stats era when jose can u c used the same starting 5 to win 6 OL titles in a row.  Anyone recall?  I want to say it was Russell, Thurmond, Pippen, Moncrief and Kidd.  Something like that, when defense mattered, efficiency didn't so much, and a rebound was a rebound.

(By the way, I think he quit the game after losing to me in the playoffs in season 7.)

And I definitely remember that Moses-Rodman-Peja-Allen-Nash lineup.  The cookie cutter of all cookie cutters.  I'd be curious to hear how that crew does now in open leagues.  Defense is more important again so the perimeter trio might get lit up, but the quintet takes care of offensive boards and the inside-outside balance on offense, and offers plenty of assists.  High on turnovers and I'm not sure about the total FTAs.  I would presume playoffs but not much of a shot at the title round.

I go old school and I remember when the Russell-Wilt combo ruled the sim, and there was actually a ceiling to salaries.  I believe no player was in excess of 12 Mil.

That 5 alone costs $43M+ so I'd say it'd be impossible to run them in an OL now.  You could use different versions, but then you wouldn't be running the real team.

Wasn't there a version with Chuck in place of Peja?  Talk about boards...

There was also a version with Bird instead of Peja.
