Just wondering if anyone's ever tested the parks where HR factors are very different for LF and RF (like Hilltop or Robison) and determined whether it would be worth it to load up on - or right-handed sluggers for such a park.

sounds like a theme league in the making.

Why is it that all these extra parks are not being offered in Open Leagues?

yeah I wish a few were offered so I could use a few different strategies. I think there would be more diversity in teams too.

Too bad Palace of the Fans is not an OL park. I could make some pretty good teams with that.

The first level of understanding the sim is making a team then picking a park to fit it.

The second level is picking a park (like Palace of the Fans) and building a team to fit it.

The third is realizing that it's better to make a moderately balanced team, picking a park, then building the team around it with some measure of balance.

I'm pretty sure your "pretty good" Palace of the Fans team would be in huge trouble if it ran into a playoff series against an AFC team without home field advantage. For some themes you have to make those compromises, but in an OL you'd probably be better off with a pitching staff that can limit home runs enough to make -3/-3 not entirely necessary...

I heart POTF.

You would.

How come there's two different -4/-4 to dingers parks and there's no longer a single +4/+4 park (coors is +3/+4)? Anti-dinger bias is corrupting this game

Put 1923 Cy Williams and 1920 Babe Ruth in Robison and the fans in RF had better wear helmets. Cy hit about 90 homers for me in a $60M league there. Visiting lefties will take advantage of the factor as well, so whether it's worth it depends on your overall drafting. But the effect is real.

Pitcher's Parks are the way to go IMHO.  I like to play around with The Palace and The Bowl, but at the end of the day Pitcher's Parks are the way to go.

Open leagues do not allow  access to the full assortment of parks.
