I've been slated for the upcoming GD update, so I won't be able to put out a quick update like I thought I would. Unfortunately, we are still limited on resources and a FCD update is not going to be in the works any time soon. I think if we did spend time on FCD, it would be a massive change and probably not a free game, so we would be able to bring it in to the fold of our other games. The free model was going to work when we had sponsorship lined up, but that fell through and we had other projects thrown in our laps and we just never got the time to really make FCD what it was supposed to be. Honestly, yes, we have to spend what time we have on our products that are making money. So until we have time to rebuild FCD to where it can make money, it is either keep it running as-is or shut it down.
I still answer support tickets, but I have to keep the time minimal so the "shut down" option is not implemented for the game. Most of the support tickets I get are about "cheating" and mistakes with player contracts. The cheating mostly has to do with users colluding and most of those instances have been minimized to where they don't get that much value for colluding. There is one case where a user is transferring money between teams, but I've looked at the value he is getting and it really is less than it seems - it should be more minimal, but I won't have time to put an update out to address it. I also won't adjust mistakes with player contracts. I get a ticket here and there that someone accidentally offered too much to a player and now it will ruin their team. "Can you please change his contract?" I won't change player contracts because most of the time it can affect the whole hiring process. Someone else might have even signed the player if you had offered what you meant to offer. There could be cases where it doesn't affect anyone else, but if I go down that road, then I have to investigate every contract request and we are back to "shutting it down" rather than taking up resources. So the contract requests being denied are partially because I don't want to risk losing FCD and I think it's the fair thing to do since there are confirmations and it could affect other users' signings. Don't get me wrong. I realize that sounds like a "shut up or I'm taking my ball and going home" but it's really just the reality of the situation and I think you guys deserve to know where we stand with the FCD product.
I could say that the only reason FCD is still on the site is that it takes minimal resources. The only reason I have hope that it will be a game that we eventually spend some time on is that there is so much interest in it. The fact that so many of you continue to play a game that is "as-is" and running pretty much on auto-pilot is what keeps it on the list.
So...I guess the answer is "no". Nothing is coming up in the next 6 months.
