Again,
Why would you think it?
I made a statement about two comparable players in mlb
Why not have a good debate?

And I'd bet my house you've never called a man you did not already know an idiot to his face
Again, I never called you it. I thought it when you said, "Didn't need numbers."

What's the point of debating someone that just knows something regardless of the evidence?

Wrong thread

I dont need numbers
if someone asks me if i think an eligible player is a HOF
and I have to think about it
He's probably not a HOF

Exactly.

Correct.   If you have to explain to me why a guy should be in the HOF, he's not HOF material.

That said, there's a difference between the "Everybody gets a participation ribbon" faction and the "I only want the best of the best in the HOF" people.

Yikes.

It's funny.   I follow baseball.   Maybe not as much as I used to but I know the best teams and the best players.  If a guy plays for 15-20 years and someone has to say "This is why he's a future HOF", I'm not buying it.   I missed the guy for 15 years?  Seriously?   How can anyone believe that?

Maybe you just aren't very good at evaluating baseball players.
7/25/2014 7:45 PM
heck
most of us probably aren't good at evaluating talent
but if any of us bother to comment on this post, we probably watch a ton of baseball and care about it passionately
otherwise, why would we bother with these posts?

evaluating talent is one thing

knowing a HOF when we see him is another animal all together. and frankly, ain't all that hard

Nope. It's ****** circular reasoning: "Anyone who I say isn't a hall of famer, isn't. Any evidence that I'm wrong is actually evidence that I'm right."

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
Team is playing well overall, but their offense still disappears for massive stretches at a time. 23 innings without scoring a run - yikes. Hard to believe they're 18-8 in their last 26 with no sign of anything from Davis or Cruz. If they show up, and we get late-2013 Ubaldo, I might feel a bit better about this team's chances in the playoffs, but they've got a very big mountain to climb.
