The Alpha league is a 16 team progressive that advances 2 seasons at a time. The league started with the 1885/1886 season and is currently in season 12, 1907/08. Each season owners choose which of 2 seasons to use for each of their players (assuming players are WIS eligible both seasons).

The owner of the Philadelphia Phillies disappeared and I entered the team as a 2nd team. The league is nearing the halfway mark and the Phillies are 28-45 thus far. I am offering the team as a free team for the remainder of the season for an owner willing to commit for at least 3 additional seasons. The team will probably have one of the top 2 draft picks for the 1909/10 season.

Due to the double season format, turnover of players is fairly rapid and teams can be turned around quickly.

The Phillies roster for 1907/08 is shown below. There are enough players with the double season format to fill rosters but the league does permit 6 position and 4 pitcher AAA players to cover any shortage of PA or IP.

The double season format has proved to be quite successful-the talent pool is much better than the single season format for this time era and we progress much more rapidly with higher player turnover, yet the great players are still around for 8-10 league seasons (16-20 real life seasons).
