The reason most "good" coaches don't come after low D1aa recruits is because they know they can get far better. You are not a good coach obv.

Congrats! You found a way to beat me at this game. You couldn't beat me at the same level, so you jumped up a level just to take my recruits. So enjoy building a team full of good DII guys...I am sure you will be winning NC's like me in no time!!!
Give me 10 Grand extra and the little tweaks you probably get from your buddies at WIS and I'd have a freaking Dynasty.  As for beating you?  You ducked me the whole time I was at DII.  I sent challenges every season but you never accepted.  You're a fraud.  WIS helped you this time.  How many times in the past did they help you?  There seems to be a lot more to this than meets the eye.

I think grindi and zedicus are the same person.  They seem to have the same attitude.

You aren't a good thinker then are you.  We are brothers though.  But big deal.  There are a whole bunch of people that do have more than one handle.  Damauler has what 4?  Some play in the same World.

I would like to know why I never got 10K added when people took my recruits.

That ****** me off.

I'm really glad I'm done putting money into this **** game.

Hope you go out of business WIS.

What a pleasant conversation to wake up to in the morning.

I really wish this crap would stop.

Man, this thread is full of FAIL.

Damauler:  Why air this crap in public?  It certainly doesn't make you look any better.  You probably have a case but your disrespectful attitude toward WIS staff as well as your arch-rival undermines the points you are trying to make.  You are recruiting at the very top of D2.  You are getting those guys for cheap because no one else at D2 can see them.  Those guys have great D2 cores and while you are right not to expect much competition for them, you do have to remember that you might occasionally need a backup plan -- though you shouldn't need 6 backup plans... which brings me to...

Zedicus: Whether you are intentionally griefing this guy or not, the fact that you are here again dealing up this kind of drama is weak sauce.  Recruiting in D1AA is hard.  The big boys do come down pretty quickly and you have to be ready for them.  But given the evidence presented here in this thread (including your own admission in the 1:29 posting), it does appear that this is more about you having an axe to grind than a simple D1AA scramble to find replacements.  I think it is sad that there are people who behave the way you do over a fricken computer game.  Its ridiculous and I am more than a little embarrassed for you.  But I am mostly irritated at...

WIS:  What kind of justice are you dealing here?  Either Zedicus is griefing and he should be dealt with harshly --especially since you just recently advertised the new rules for fair play-- or he isn't.  There isn't a single form of justice here where doling out $10k to one party or the other is warranted.  Not only was Damauler probably not even out $10k for those 5-6 guys but he sent his tickets in on the weekend when we all know you guys are closed.  You got around to them first thing on Monday.  That seems reasonable and isn't exactly an extraordinary incident so it doesn't merit an extraordinary remedy.  As the dealers of justice, we ask you to be fair, impartial, and most of all consistent.  Throwing Damauler a $10k dabone for this isn't consistent and I'm not convinced it's fair.

Clean up your act, people!!!

Sorry guys, the $10K was because I got to the ticket late and damauler12 was actually holding off on recruiting waiting for it to be responded to.  The recruiting money was for my ineptitude in getting to the ticket over the weekend which meant he lost a couple days recruiting.  It was about the amount he had spent on the recruits he thought he would have a shot at again.  It wasn't because someone signed his recruits.  Probably a bad decision.  I won't try to help anyone out in the future.

damauler12 has asked to have the $10K removed to be fair.

zedicus, sorry for the "last season" comment.  It was supposed to be a joke, not personal.  I don't think anyone would be surprised that the one thing that would make me slam my head through my desk would be this little ongoing feud, but it was in bad taste. Sorry.

norbert, can we get a ruling here, griefing or not? It seems to be that zedicus admitted it was griefing in his previous post, and 6 poaches from 1 team that much lower is suspicious.
"No jackass.  Because you poached me 4 seasons in a row and you are the #1 team in DII, because I was short some money, and YOU claim to be Gods' gift to recruiting, I poached you. "

The difference between d1aa and the top of d2 is still huge.  And it seems to be the brothers doth protest too much to be innocent here.

I think we all agree that poaching at the same level is just competitive recruiting, but dropping down to poach, if targeting one team, is griefing. Or is it not griefing if you sign the players?

Norbert, do you have a cubicle? Or an office?

I say not griefing. Why?

1. He signed the players. Now if a guy wants to sign players that others may not think are as good as some other players out there that should be that coaches business. I see players signed at all levels every season that I just plain shake my head at. I would not sign them for my teams but other coaches do.

2. If as a coach I can not send a message to another coach at any point in time then I now have lost a great deal of control in this game. One more strike against the game. Last week in a recruit I had a coach jump 3 of my greens.  A guy jumps 4 in another recruit. Should I be left with no retaliation measures? Yet its OK for the other guy to jump my greens.

I forget though that jumping greens is a highly extolled way on here. Unless I do it to you.

I'm sure most will disagree with me but this is my opinion.

Out of 20 recruits signed every one says DIAA or DIA talent.  NO DIIs!  18 of 20 are high potential.  2 Average potential.  I am doing just fine recruiting for this long time SIM.  This seasons recruits will end up better than last seasons as last season I didn't get all of the scholies filled as I put money into only part of the available ones so the guys I picked were pretty good.  The ones the SIM picked were awful.  This season I recruited some good recruits and then filled in myself instead of the SIM doing it.  Believe me, the DIAA guys I poached from the good DII teams are a LOT better than what the SIM got me last season.  Last season my "bad" recruiting netted me 2) 5 star and 3) 4 star recruits.  Of like 20 recruits I had  5 SIM picks and that will knock a class down.  But hey, those guys won't make it to the end anyways as I level out the classes.  But WIS isn't smart enough to see through that.  I am happy with MY picks last season and I like this seasons class.  I don't want nor need your advice and WIS can go screw themselves with their comments.  My record is pretty damn good and I haven't had them helping me out as they obviously are helping others.
I ran a check on my Warner team just to make sure. I'm in a very similar position there; rebuilding a long-term SIM, with vick12 having a highly successful team in DII. I threw some AC phone calls at a handful of undecideds, then compared the results to the recruits vick12 was recruiting. My unwanted undecideds that turned green for a phone call averaged over 50 ratings points and 3.5 GUESS points higher than the best recruits vick12 could see. So, yeah, you pretty much suck at recruiting, zed. That said, though, given your vision at DIAA, I'm stunned that a DIA bothered with one of your recruits, let alone ten. Either the DIA guy was griefing you (can't IMAGINE why anyone would have a problem with you re: recruiting), or the whole "DIA ate my homework" line is just an excuse for headhunting damauler12.
7/10/2012 11:56 AM
I agree that if he signs the players then it is not griefing.  Intentionally going after a specific, albeit lower level, team's recruits can bring intent into question but it is not necessarily 'griefing'.
7/10/2012 11:59 AM
Seems highly suspicious to me especially with all the undecideds out there, but I will say this, there is a very good chance that the players being recruited by a human have higher potential than the ones that are undecided.  There certainly could be a strategy out there to look for those type of players.  That said, 6 players from one team located far away from you, when there are that many undecideds with significantly better cores (even if they don't improve as much, there will likely be better players for at least 2 to 3 years), against a coach where there is a long negative history, etc. just seems fishy to me.    I'd say this was griefing and not merely poaching.
