I wonder if there is a way to bring up prospects for the last 30 games of the season, an extended roster that would not get to the playoffs but be able to contribute somewhat to the last month of the season as is actually done in MLB.
Also if the players not in the all star game could also get 3 games of rest during the break like they do in real life

As long as they are on the 40 man roster you can bring them up. In MLB they have to be on the 40 man roster to be brought up to the majors. I also agree that players should receive rest during the all star break.
