So you have Pujols adding 26 points of batting average and 15 homers?  I think you are way too aggressive on Pujols, Cano, and Cabrera.  Also, I'm confused as to how you think Konerko is gonna hit 22 more home runs but still drop 13 points of average.  If he's that hot with the power he should at least hold his average.  Of course, I'd say there's no way in hell a Konerko currently sitting on 17 homers ends up at 39.

One more statistical aberration you're predicting.  Verlander right now is 11-7 with a 0.98 WHIP through 22 starts.  He likely has 11 or 12 starts left this season.  You really expect him to go 7-1 but have (roughly, assuming IP/start remains similar) a 1.38 WHIP in those remaining starts?  You do have him dramatically increasing his K-rate, though, so maybe you figure he's gonna put a lot of guys on but get away with it by striking out the guys behind them?

Of course, the most likely thing is that you really didn't pay nearly as much attention to these guys' current stats as any rational human being would have when trying to make statistical predictions 2/3 of the way through the season.  I don't see how you could possibly have looked at Paul Konerko's season thus far and thought to yourself, "well, that guy's gonna finish this up with 39 long balls."

What's the point of throwing totally unreasonably numbers out?

If Larry Bigbie couldn't do it, Trout has no chance

The power rankings this week as about the most laughable thing I have seen on this site. To say the St. Louis Cardinals are the 3rd best team in the league brings down all credibility of this site. You have to tweak your formulas, The cards wouldn't even make the play offs today!!! To put the Reds 6th after winning 10 straight is assinine, they've now wont 15 of 16...they will probably drop again next week....All while doing it without their best two players...doubt they put that into the equation..Those power rankings are a freaking joke, the simulation isn't close to being realistic and the site is slowly falling behind...

They tell you exactly hw they take into account that the Reds don't have their 2 best players - they run the simulations without those players in the lineup.  Given that they run the simulations based on cumulative stats hot and cold streaks aren't all that significant.  But God forbid you actually read how the power rankings work before you blast them...

"The simulation isn't close to being realistic..."

Ummm, that's why it's called simulation.  Why would we pay to use a site if it duplicated actual MLB standings & player statistics?

There were two months left.  Albert got hurt, so his number won't be close to what I predicted.  15 homers and raising his avg that much in two months POSSIBLE?  Sure....15 homers in a span of two months is hardly out of the ordinary for him....but alas, he got hurt.  You also act like him raising his avg. 26 points was close to impossible.

Cabrera is probably going to exceed the predictions I had in some areas, especially in RBI.
