I am thinking of starting a league.

The idea would be this:

Each owner would pick one season - as an exclusive

All forwards would come from the first place team and Stanley Cup winners.
 
All defenders, goalies and scrubs come from the last place team.  In the event that there aren't enough to choose from on last place team players can be taken from non-playoff teams as long as their salaries are equal to or less than their counterparts from the last place team.

Cap will be 100 mil

No ww, ml, max inj 3

No twisting


Any feedback?

I like this idea, but the format is so restrictive that I think  you might run into salary problems, where some years can't field teams because their forwards cost so much that the team can't meet the cap.  Unless the cap is really high, and then you will have some years where their team is a lot more expensive than most of the rest of the league.

If you found a way to add more teams, but keep the same flavour, maybe you could find a salary cap that all 24 teams could be around.  What about, forwards from the 1st place team  + the Cup winner (use the Cup runner up as the 2nd team if the same team won both the PT and Cup).

defence and goalies from the bottom 2 teams?

I love the single year, no twisting aspect.

The D and Goalies should be cheap so I don't think any team will be too expensive. If it wasn't for needing 12 forwards and 21 skaters, people might  like original 6 teams for better overall D and Goal, sacrificing some scoring. Would give more options.

Been away for a few days but I like some of your ideas,  Salary cap was one issue I was having problems with and I kind of like the idea of having a few more teams to choose from while sticking to the one year no twisting format.  I will do a little more research and se what transpires.

What about, forwards coming from both the 1st place team (and Stanley Cup Champ from that year) that way - original 6 teams with limited #'s for forward requirements could still be used.....just a thought (what about scrubs)
