EDIT>>>> LEAGUE IS DEAD. Not enought interest to make it fly. Thanks for reading
It's been a couple of years since I created a theme league... Let's see how this one flies.
It's a simple concept, but it will make your team difficult to build, and limit cookie players and strategies. You'll use players that you most likely never used before.
I'm giving seven rules for player selection. You must meet exactly (ie: for 6, you need exactly 6 players that meet that criteria, no more, no less). Players can overlap (ie: the same player can fill more than 2 rule roles).
Here's the 7 rules
| 1 |
Player over $10m |
| 2 |
Pitchers from pre-1930 (All others must be later) |
| 3 |
Guys who hit 30+ HR's in that season (all others fewer) |
| 4 |
Players under $500k (yes, only 4 scrubs) |
| 5 |
Pitchers with WHIP over 1.30 (That's a lot of bad pitchers) |
| 6 |
Hitters with PA/162 under 450 (Hmm...With rule 4?) |
| 7 |
Pitchers who threw 100 or more IP/162 (Really?) |
Think about it....Most of your pitching staff will be from 1930 or later, You're going to have to manage innings differently, you can only have 4 true scrubs, which means you may need to platoon a bit,
To get in, you have to send me an sitemail telling me the players who fill the rule.
Something like:
My team
Rule 1 - 1895 Cy Young
Rule 2 - 1895 Cy Young and 1928 Garland Braxton
Rule 3 - yadda, yadda, yadda
Rule 4 - Etc.
I will verify that no other players violate the rules after you enter your team. I will also save screen prints of your team, so if you change your roster after you enter it, you will need to tell me.
The other basics
$80m cap
No AAA, No WW, No Trading
No SLL, No clones,
All stadiums legal
Random realignment
Who wants a challenge?
