So the Big 10, ACC, Big 12, Big East, Pac 10, and SEC are the majors and the Sun Belt, MAC, Conf USA, and WAC are mid majors.

NFL - 1 HD - 81 GD - 51

There are 0 elites in the Big East and 4 in the Big Ten so it's a stretch to claim the Big East is is a major, but it does get a Level 5 automatic bowl bid so from that standpoint it has an advantage

yeah,. big east is one of the fuller conferences in most worlds due to the recruiting areas and no elite being present. 
but as such it can be one of the more brutal ones because it's so clustered and every team has a shot to win so a lot of WTF games can happen.
