Got all the way to the end and have 3 AWOL owners.  The following categories are open.

6. I’ll take a vowel Last Name edition - These guys have some strange names because they both start and end with a vowel. Note, Y is not a vowel in this instance, so Bronson Arroyo and Jim O’Rourke count, but Dennis Eckersley would not

I checked out the personnel of this team and since you created the league Frazzman, you may be aware that the team with last names beginning and ending with a vowel has a serious shortage of starting pitching. The tally is close to five quality pitchers and 80% of those are LHP's. On the flip side the bullpen is overloaded with awesome talent. My suggestion would be to permit the 'Y" as a vowel used 'sometimes.' Then, I feel this team could be competitive. Just offering my thoughts.

I apprecieate that gyrene...but the point of the league is to build from a limited talent pool. Yes, some categories have more players to choose from than others (my first name colors team had about 100 players to choose from) but I had a blast building that team and I think they'll be competive at the cap.

You mention that the bullpen is overloaded and the starting pitchers are not as great...so you could conceivably draft 9 quality bullpen guys and have a 3 man rotation with a quick pull setting and have a great staff where the starters didn't go deep. I played in a league recently where the owner drafted 10 pitchers for his bullpen and had his starters go 45 pitches or so and he won the division.

A league like this lets you use players you would never use in an open league and to try new strategies. It's designed to push you out of your comfort zone a bit for the way you normally play the sim. WIth that in mind, I think that the category as it is should be competitive.
