If I get a backup message from a recruit, will he always eventually drop down if he does not receive any offers?

Nope...some recruits never drop.

Okay, thanks.

Most will drop, I think, but not 100%. For instance, some of them will go SIM on the last morning of recruiting

That makes sense.  There are still a number of cycles remaining and I am going to wait awhile longer before I go to plan B.

You could try to pull him down w/ scouting trips.

I wish I could :).  I used 25 scouting trips attempting to pull down a different guy (did not get him -- lesson learned), so I am scrambling now.  I have enough money left to offer a scholarship and a couple of HV's on my last opening, but not enough for a  pull down.

did u offer a scholarship with those 25 evals?  Recruits tend to drop quicker/easier if you throw a scholly in there as well.  I learned that the hard way over the years.

Yeah, I did.  I think maybe he did not drop because there was a D-2 team that was putting money into him.  I gave up when I saw a d-2 school show up on his considering list.
