Is a 75 durability enough for a position player, or are they going to need occasional/frequent days off?

I'd like to know if a 20+ difference in durability should sway me between two players... I favor the guy with less durability slightly, but if one is going to play fifteen more games a season...

Thanks

Yes. Yes. Yes.

In my experience a 75 DUR is worth about 600- 625 PAs at 100%.
If a guy is really good, I'd rather have 135-140 games of him than 160 of a lesser player.
I guess ultimately it depends on how great a difference there is.

No, that's way too high.

I have a guy who, last season, was 79 DUR.  He played 140 games / 569 PA's at 98% or higher.

Maybe you mean ABs?

I actually have played this guy down to 95% in some seasons, but even the season I kept him at 100 all season he got 636 PAs. His DUR that season was 78.

Nelson was not a leadoff hitter.  He usually batted in the 6/7 hole.  Maybe that accounts for the difference in PA's.

Still, I find it difficult to believe that you can get 600+ PA's at 100% for any guy with 75 DUR.

Well in any case you said 140 games for Nelson, which is what I said. 135-140 of a stud is worth more than 162 of a mediocre guy.
Really depends on how big a difference there is between the two offensively is the answer to the question asked.

Majnum, you said "slightly". If the difference is pretty slight then yes the 95 DUR guy is far more valuable than is the 75 DUR guy.

Both the spot in the order and the position they play matters.  With the same DUR a guy playing DH or 1B can play more games at 100% than a guy playing catcher or CF.

So if your 75 DUR is hitting 2nd int he lineup and playing DH he can definately get 600 PA.  I hit Jackie 2nd much of the time because of his high OBP.  Since I have been a playoff contender the past two seasons he never played below a 98.

Same team my catcher is around the same DUR but hits 9th and also never plays below a 98.  Huge difference.
