I lost a game where the opposing QB completed 11 passes for over 500 yards. That seems a little out of whack to me. Anybody else seeing lopsided totals. I know rushing was to much at one point. It seems we have gone the other way this season.

Big Time out of whack.  A team in DII with an average at best QB has thrown for 2100 yds in the last 3 games on 58 completions.

people are all starting to see this work and are switching over...season stats are getting to be quite broken.

Completion percentage is out of whack too. Out of all of D2 Bava QBs who have at least 100 pass attempts, all but 14 have completion rates over 60%.

My very mediocre MIT/Craven team just scored 100 points.

I've been coaching...I test games against chuck and pray teams and while it makes a difference, the final score is 70-50 instead of 100-90. Still way too good. I mean, you can complete 20% of your passes and score 50 points and have 600 yards passing. You'd think that skewing towards pass defense completely and running the ball alot would be able to counter it. It just doesn't anymore.

WIS has to dial it back some; too many deep passes being caught in triple coverage, and not enough of those bombs being intercepted. The only thing keeping my head from exploding is the fact that not that many teams are running the shotgun all pass deep gameplan. I ran some tests with two all pass Os and the final score averaged 300 total points. QBs with 2k passing yards in one game. 40+ yards per catch. Ya gotta get this under control!

The problem really is that the comp% may even be about right, but only in the context of these throws being rare surprises. You can't throw the same patterns (and vdeep throws are all streaks) every time and it not effect the completion % negatively. I'm not sure they can both fix it, and maintain the vdeep throw as an option for anyone at any time.

I think they can. It would mean maybe an option for the FS position to cover deep. Then bolster the DB's pass defense. This would let the better pass defenses to cover/int better and decrease the deep bomb capabilities of teams, without taking it away. Also I would like to see more of a negative for the offense against double/triple coverage and the right play/depth call by the defense. These would decrease the % completions and dampen the deep ball.

I think passing is overpowered, but I haven't seen enough games of top teams vs top teams to make a conclusion yet.  Most of the big scores I've seen are good teams vs bad teams where I'd expect a blowout anyway and where the DBs are noticeably weaker than the WRs.  IMO, the biggest issue right now with the passing game is the clock, which barely moves on passing plays and allows the teams to run far too many plays.

Want me to give you some examples? hold on...I'll edit this with a few examples of evenly matched teams getting huge scores.

Christopher Newport 3 35 14 17 0 69
Maranatha Baptist 21 17 7 14 0 59

Stafford QB 40 19 0.48 766 19.2 40.3 8 1 6 3 3

Mathews QB 69 52 0.75 521 7.6 10.0 7 0 4 4 3

RATINGS  - QB (1)49.0 40.0- OL (5)52.4 54.6- RB (2)46.5 46.5- WR (2)48.5 47.0- TE (1)48.0 42.0- DL (4)51.3 50.8- LB (4)51.8 50.0- DB (4)45.5 48.5

The other team is an all pass team that does not use chuck and pray, but is well prepared to go against the offense. This is what I would call the low average.

Scores range from 45-40 to 80-82 with most falling around this score and result.

In bava I have an Ashland team that has had the #1 SOS in DII this season and is 4-5 with a 40 ranking. I am currently playing #23 Indianapolis and at halftime I am down 63-52 with 1031 total passing yards at HALF. My team if it had the same schedule as Indianapolis would likely be ranked as well. They are the better team, but the chuck and pray is keeping me in the game. If I run a traditional offense I lose by 20+ every time only scoring 20 points or so. Test games often have the two teams combining for 2000 yards passing.

BTW, I ended up winning 120-115. 235 points, 2390 yards. 33 TD's in the game. Absolutely unbelievable. These are two close to evenly rated teams, with indy actually slightly better rated according to test games. both teams trying to combat passing, both using full passing with most if not all deep passing offenses. I'm ok with an occassional 60-50 game, but 120-115 should not be possible.

not today, but in tomorrows game in Bava people who want a primo example of the out of line passing stats should check out my game vs. mercyhurst. It looks like its going to be 290 points scored total.
