Honestly, I'm up for any format, I just want to try an auction.  I'm not familiar with some of the ideas / sites being thrown around, but we do need to remember that there would undoubtedly be a few owners who don't have internet access 24/7, due to work and other things.  If anyone wants to run with something, go right ahead: I'll support as much as possible.

Oh yeah, does anyone truly believe we could get 24 guys together in one room, even a chat room, at one time?  It took me a month to find a day to do a 12-man football draft.

The way we currently assign teams to draft slots, we could assign players to draft slots.

Google Docs is something to consider as well. I have ideas how that would actually work if interested.
Yes one of the ideas I sent to all3 was to use google docs or skydrive to do a blind auction through an excel survey.

We could bid on 12-24 players a day.. through something like this.. We could use the pool of players drafted in the last 52 mil draft. Then undrafted guys we could fill out our teams with for free.

I think a blind draft takes the competitive nature out of the auction, and really dilutes the effect. I'd like an open auction format. The way I've outlined on page 2, needs nothing we don't  already use and has a competitive draft auction. If you haven't done a open/timed cyber auction, let's just say they can be intense toward the end of the time slot. Lastly, it won't take any more time than a standard draft. I really like the chat room idea, I just don't see it as workable with 24 teams. It would be a nightmare with 12 teams.

If I run another league it would be this; The 2013-14 Pre-Season Auction Draft League. We would draft now for the 2013-14 season players, and play the league when the new season gets released. I forget who mentioned the pre-season draft but I really like the idea, combined with the auction draft idea, it may be worth pursuing. I'll think about it...

I think part of the answer could be reducing the number of rounds to 5 or 6.  That takes care of most of the good players.

This may be another way to approach this draft. The top 144 players, by salary, would be listed in 1 hour blocks (10am-10pm EDT), anybody interested could bid and at the end of the hour (:59) the player would be awarded to the highest bidder. The next 144 players could be 1) drafted in the usual manner (1 or 2 at a time) or 2) a common player pool open to all could be used. This way the draft wouldn't be any longer than a normal draft.
This was my earlier proposal.

ok, lets not drop the ball here - if those in want to maintain momentum - contact a friend or buddy from a differet league and get some interest generated - I doubt this will happen if we rely on walk ups fro the classifieds.
