Sux fan saying "White guy hustles and plays D.   Dark skinned fellow is lazy, shiftless and only cares about his offensive stats."

If you'd like to point out where I said "Cano is the better defensive player", I'd love to see it.

So you're admitting that Pedroia is better defensively?

I'll take the non-response as "Well, yeah, you didn't say it but nobody is arguing with me so I thought I pull my standard bullshit and make something up."

Negotiating 101.    Ask for way more than you'll get.     I suspect he'll get 6-8 years at 20m or so.    Owners/GMs have to look at the deals like A-Rod/Hamilton/Pujols and say "You know, when players hit their mid/late 30s, they're just not worth that much."    There's no reason for the Dodgers to pay Cano for what he did with the Yankees.

Of course, it only takes one Tom Hicks-type to bid against himself.   And the Yanks did the same thing, again, when A-Rod opted out of the bad deal Hicks gave him.

THIS is what I said.   Do you even read threads before attempting to argue some point that no one has made?

Well, no one said that.

I figure if you can attribute racism to someone's assessment that Pedroia is better defensively, I can assume that you think Cano is better defensively.

Or am I wrong in that assumption?

I made no assertions about the defensive ability of either player.    I simply pointed out the reasoning of the known racist thinking of the Red Sux fan base.
9/30/2013 1:44 PM
Yeah, that's the problem. You assumed someone was racist. Probably shouldn't do that.
9/30/2013 2:14 PM
No assumption.   Just the facts.

If he signs for anything more than what Pedroia just got, then it's a mistake.  They are on par with each other (Pedroia a better defender and Cano better on Offense).  Pedroia signed a 8 year (a bit much) but onl $110 mil.  That makes the 8 years much easier to handle.
Facts??? What facts?

This is what nomar said. I disagree (I'd rather have Cano over Pedroia despite the difference on defense) but it's reasonable and nothing about it seems racist.

I've argued nothing for or against anything you've posted.   You're apparently attempting to create an argument where one does not exist.
