St. Mary's TX will be in the Yarnell from the Heartland, and Limestone is the highest ranked CVAC team in the dynasty rankings (even after Longwood's NT this season), so it should be Limestone from the CVAC in the Yarnell, but I will wait until hacker posts the Yarnell field before setting the schedule for our tourney.  I need to find out who from each conference will be in the Yam Jam and Derby City Classic as well.
12/17/2013 10:49 AM
I'm in the Yam Jam, and Drury is too (unless there are two Drury's)

Drury, Oklahoma Panhandle St. and Erskine are all slated to play in the Yam Jam or Derby City Classic.  St. Mary's TX and Limestone will be in the Yarnell.  I've set matchups assuming those teams in the other tourney's.  Here are the matchups, and please remember to schedule these games as soon as recruiting starts to avoid any issues with scheduling them:

Game 5:
Barton @ W. Florida
Montevallo @ St. Andrews Presbyterian

Game 6:
Mount Olive @ Rockhurst

Game 7:
Coker @ W. Alabama
Incarnate Word @ Queens U NC

Game 8:
Valdosta St. @ Anderson

Game 9:
Belmont Abbey @ N. Alabama

Game 10:
Lincoln @ Erskine
Lees-McRae @ Drury
Oklahoma Panhandle St. @ Limestone
Pfeiffer @ St. Edwards
St. Mary's TX @ Longwood

Barton (0-4) at W Florida (1-3): Don't let the record fool you, Barton has some talented players. Barton has a heartbreaking OT loss and two additional losses to ranked teams with their big man oriented attack, led by Earl Klinger's 10+ ppg. Young W Florida has 9 lower class men. Senior PF Robert Chance provides leadership and over 12 ppg. Barton favored by 2.

#10 Montevallo (4-0) at St Andrews (1-3): the Mont interrupts its tour of SimAI with a visit to hard luck St Andrews. Montevallo has an inside-outside attack with Sr PG Harry Fairbanks and Sr C Chester Barragan each getting over 12 ppg. St Andrews counters with their own inside-outside duo of Patrick Anderson and Leonard Hardrick and their combined 26 ppg. St Andrews 3 losses are by a combined 6 points. The Mont is favored by 16, which is the second most ridiculous spread tonight (Longwood as a 23 point home underdog being the other).

i didn't schedule it, but N Alabama is playing BA tonight, not in game 9

Barton 61, W Florida 56: W Florida ralliedtoclose the margin, but Barton was in control for most of the contest. Barton's bigs out-rebounded W Florida, holding a 31-19 edge. Barton was also a perfect 20 of 20 at the free throw line. Michael Jones' game high 16 led the way for Barton.

St Andrews 81, Montevallo 74: Every member of St Andrews' starting lineup reached double figures, led by Patrick Anderson's 19, as they held off formerly undefeated Montevallo. St Andrews 12 three-pointers made the difference in this otherwise tightly contested matchup.

Belmont Abbey 74, N Alabama 58: In this battle of tempos and slashing offenses, Belmont Abbey's uptempo pressing style was the difference maker. N Alabama committed 23 turnovers, allowing BA to coast to victory. Nick Goldsmith had 16 for victorious Belmont Abbey.

CVAC takes a commanding 3-0 lead.
2/20/2014 8:04 AM
Mount Olive 80, Rockhurst 59: oddmakers thought this one was a close matchup on paper, with Mount Olive as the slight favorite. PG Martin Hatfield leads the way for Mount Olive while Ronald Gray and Devon Wickstrom supply more than half the scoring for the Rock's unique small ball attack.

Mount Olive doubled up Rockhurst in the first half, 43-26, and it was over from there. The Rock shot 36% from the floor and without anyone bigger than a SF lost the rebounding battle 44-31. Hatfield McCoyed the Rockhurst defense for 24 points.

CVAC 4, Heartland just participating

Coker (6-0) at W Alabama (5-1): Although neither team is ranked, each team brings a gaudy record to this matchup. Coker looks like the real deal, holding opponents to 38% shooting. They are led by juniors Bradley Rodgers and Aaron Johnsen who combine for almost 27 ppg. W Alabama also holds opponents to 38%. They have a quartet of double digit scorers, led by Joel White's 19 ppg. This one looks like a great matchup, with Coker favored by a bucket.

#3 Incarnate Word (5-1) at #12 Queens (6-0): Incarnate Word starts 5 seniors, with Thomas Booth, James Snow, and Richard O'Leary all reaching double figures. Kelvin Addison pours in 26 ppg for Queens, while Thomas Cloer's 12 per game a solid secondary option. IW favored by a single point in a hostile gym.
2/21/2014 5:45 PM
Coker 82, W Alabama 63: Coker was the better team in this one, as their offense was able to wear down the W Alabama defense. Two center fouled out for W Alabama and Coker had a 45-37 advantage on the boards. Coker also forced 21 W Alabama turnovers. Brown and Mellor's combined 45 points wasn't enough to keep W Alabama close.

Incarnate Word 67, Queens 65: Queens held a 5 point lead with 0:27 remaining and managed to let this one get away. Robert Lounsbury hit a 3 to close the gap to 2 at 0:21. Lounsbury promptly fouled Wesley Billot, who calmly clanked both free throws off the back iron. Another Lounsbury 3 with 0:09 gave IW a one point lead. Lounsbury fouls Billot again, who redeems himself with two makes, returning the lead to Queens with 0:05 left. IW takes a timeout to draw up a Thomas Booth three-pointer that was nothing but net as time expired.

Hats off to Queens, they are the real deal. PF Louis Hamilton (PER = 33) made a half court shot as time expired in the first half. We had no business pulling that out (although we shot free throws at a 39% clip).

CVAC 5, Heartland on the board with 1

Hide your kids, hide your wife, Valdosta is favored by 104 over Anderson. Not a typo.

Valdosta 86, Anderson 48: Valdosta ran slowdown and still beat a team by 38. Dale Fields had 16 points in 17 minutes before taking a seat. Highlights of this game are available, but only with the Anderson players fuzzed out to protect the innocent.

Valdosta is really really good.

CVAC 5, Heartland 2
