The 21 Year Gap  League ID# 108971

The 20 Year Gap League is currently finishing up the regular season. Time to get owners on board for version 2 - The 21 Year Gap!

Using the seasons of 1920 to 2013 select 4 seasons with exactly 21 years between them, such as: 1925, 1946, 1967, 1988.

Using those 4 seasons use this formula to build your team of 25 players:
1 Starting Pitcher(SP) from each season. = 4 total
2 Relief Pitchers(RP) from each season. = 8 total
1 Catcher(C) and 3 Outfielders(OF), 1 from each season = 4 total
4 Infielders(1B,2B,3B,SS), 1 from each season = 4 total
All of these 20 players listed above must use their primary position for draft purposes.
Last 5 players can play any position and come from any of your 4 seasons. The Salary for each 1 of these 5 must be less than $2M.

You cannot draft a "SP" as one of your "RP" or vice versa, etc, etc.. You must have 4 "SP" and "8 RP". Players can play anywhere.

$120M Salary Cap
No DH
No WW
No AAA
No Clones

Only 2 versions of the same 4 seasons allowed. (This includes the seasons where 2 owners may have 1 season that is different).

Thanks guys!

I would normally wait till a few more have signed up before I pick my seasons but since I stunk so bad in the first Gap League I am going to pick my seasons now. 1944,1965,1986,2007.
4/12/2014 4:25 PM
I was going to take 36-57-78-99  but the relief pitching is pretty thin.

I will go with 1923 - 1944 - 1965 - 1986
4/12/2014 4:29 PM
Ok, thanks schwarze.

That closes 1923, 1944, 1965, 1986, 2007.

I don't remember this from last season.  These rules seem to indicate that  your 4 SPs can be the only ones to ever start a game.  It also seems to indicate your SPs can never be used as relievers.  That is pretty hard to control.

In fact, that question came up in the classified ad for the 20 year gap league about how pitchers are able to be used.  The answer was that how pitchers were used during the season, once drafted in their proper category, was not regulated.  I bumped the old thread for reference.

I would like to try 1921, 1942, 1963 and 1984 please.

Sorry, I did not word that correctly. You CAN use them however you want. What I meant, and I have changed it, is that you cannot DRAFT a "SP" for one of your "RP" spots or vice versa. You must have 4 "SP" and 8 "RP".
