jobs, jobs, jobs. Obama has gained back the 9-10 million jobs lost during the great Bush recession. With no help and utter obstruction from Boner and the house teabaggers.

At least BL attempts to take up his retarded arguments with links to other people's retarded arguments.

You've got nothing.

You're dumber than BL.  That's not easy to do.  Well done.

Thanks again for playing.  Have a nice day.

google it monkey
Sure...how about a few more details.  You are the one that mentioned it.  Maybe an author or an org that published it?  I've seen a few studies too.  I'd like to see the one that actually "debunks" it, as you say.

You can call me a monkey I guess - if that helps you.  I'd just like to see what supports your assertion.

Ok, so I had a little time.
"minimum wage versus jobs"...33,000,000 results
"minimum wage increases jobs"... 24,900,000 results
"mimimum wage increase study debunks teabaggers"...33,000 results  (Americans Against the Teabaggers, Huffington Post, Daily Kos, etc.)

Maybe you can back up your claim with something specific?  Anything?  You made the assertion - I'd like to talk about it...

So let's just raise it to $50/hour.  That way we'll get job growth and everyone gets a living wage right?  If that report showed causation instead of correlation, then it would in fact "debunk" the argument.  Somehow I don't think it's the only variable, but I admit to not reading the report that you didn't link.
$50 an hour isn't reasonable, though. I think we can all agree that what works at one number doesn't work at another.

Here's the article/study I think he's referring to:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2014/01/04/economists-agree-raising-the-minimum-wage-reduces-poverty/

The take away:

"let’s take a look at where these economists, and all the other researchers investigating the minimum wage, do agree: They all tend to think that raising the minimum wage would reduce poverty."

I mentioned a (very) long time ago in this thread, that although I am certainly what most on the left would consider a radical right wing religious nutjob, I am not opposed to minimum wage increases.  But only with the following caveats:

1.  Do not attempt to make it a "living wage" - it was never intended to do that.
2.  Tie it to an economical index, such as CPI, but include energy and food in the index.  Annual minimum wage increases to match the index.  Set the law to match and be done with it

As it is now, the minimum wage "issue" is only an issue so that corrupted power owners on each side can demagogue it.  Find the compromise point now, whatever that level is, and move on.  The added benefit of tying it to inflation is that it would put pressure on the low side of the payscale market to advance all wages to keep pace with inflation.  Because of the value of skillsets - and the necessity of varying wages based on that - an index-driven minimum wage actually helps the poor and lower-middle class.  Of course, wage increases can be part of the inflation-driver in the first place, but competetive businesses can always be looking to make the next technological advance or find new efficiencies.
