38-27

however, putting a score on it dooms this to becoming a 66-14 game
Quoted for documentation.

I was looking for a spread. You're saying 11. I think OU will beat them rather easily, so I'll say 29 point victory.

youth has not risen to the task so far......couple of drops and a horrible punt, coupled with Worley's misread on the blitz make for a tough start

un freaking real......picked off in the end zone two drives in a row, the 2nd returned for a TD

the final score will say this was a blowout, so I guess it was, but that's a minimum of 6 points they threw away, with a chance at 14 and 7 more they allowed on the return

FSU-off
Oregon-beat Wyoming.  Big deal.
Alabama-beat SMiss.  Big deal.
Oklahoma-beat TN.  Big deal.
Auburn-off
Georgia-lost close one to SC after 1 1/2 lightning delay.   Not sure I'm ready to shitcan GA or elevate SC.
TAMU-beat Rice.  Big deal.
Baylor-beat Buffalo. Big deal.
USC-Lost to Boston College.   PAC12 is looking like the suck.
LSU-beat ULM.  Big deal.
Notre Dame-beat Purdue.   Big deal.

Other games of note:  OSU destroyed Kent State.   ECU upset VaTech.   VA beat Louisville in a close one.   Stanford and Ole Miss rolled over nobodies.   UCLA snuck past Texas and Arizona State beat Colorado.

My new top 10:
FSU
Oregon
Bama
Oklahoma

Auburn
TAMU
Baylor
LSU
ND
Ole Miss
Stanford(only top 10 with a loss)

As a jab at moranis, OSU will never get near the top 10 again.   TAMU beat SC.  VaTech beat OSU.   SC beat ECU.  ECU beat VaTech.   SC beat GA.  GA beat Clemson.  So I've got about 7 SEC, 3 ACC and 1 AAC better than OSU.    That's without getting into B10, P12 or independents.

IMO, Bama has the most room for error.  I think they could survive a loss.   TAMU, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss on the schedule plus the potential SEC championship game.   FSU only has Clemson and ND.  Oregon has Stanford and UCLA(which might not even be a quality win by the time they play).   Oklahoma has Baylor.

The Big 10 was 1-10 vs the other Power 5 schools.

Me and the AP were dead on for the top 10(just realized I listed Stanford as top 10 but I went 11 deep).

11-20 looks pretty muddled to me.
9/15/2014 10:27 AM
Auburn/Kansas St and Clemson/FSU are the marquee games this week.

Does SC make the playoff by winning out?
9/15/2014 1:24 PM
Their only real tests are Auburn and Clemson.   If they won the SEC, they're obviously in.    Depending on what else happens with FSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, I think they could sneak in at 11-2 if they lost a close one in the SEC championship game.   The SEC West is gonna eat itself.   Auburn(who also plays GA), LSU, Bama, TAMU play each other.    A couple of them will have 3 losses.    That said, SC will lose a game that they have no business losing.   They seem to do it every year so it wouldn't surprise me if GA reps the East in the SEC championship against a 1 loss Bama/Auburn.

Damn.  I forgot about Ole Miss.   SEC West is tough.
9/15/2014 2:55 PM
a 2 loss non-conference champion will not make the playoff.
9/16/2014 9:07 AM
I'll disagree on principal.    SC or GA crushes everyone on their way to the SEC Championship.   11-1.   Then they lose to undefeated Bama on a last second FG(Bama also crushed everyone).

FSU is undefeated.   MSU wins B10 with 11-2 record.   Oklahoma wins B12 with 11-2 record.   Oregon wins PAC12 with 11-2 record.   ND has losses to USC and FSU.

Which team, other than Bama/FSU, is more worthy?
9/16/2014 9:16 AM
In that case it would 1. Alabama, 2. Florida State, 3. Oregon, 4. Oklahoma.
9/16/2014 2:27 PM

Obviously we disagree with what the committee has been tasked with doing.    IOW, you say "4 best conference champs from 5 power conferences."  I say "If that's how they're doing it, why have a committee?"
