What makes South Carolina's situation unique to other potential two loss teams?

Still waiting, stinenavy.

I'll recap SC's season for you.
Crushed by TAMU at home.   Defense looked helpless.
Beat ECU unimpressively despite 10 pt difference.   Only looked good late while pounding the ball.
Beat GA at home in a tight one.   Defense looked improved but still unimpressive.   Offense was solid in moving the ball via ground and air.

You still didn't find a quote from anyone saying, "No two loss team can make the college football playoff."

It's gotta be there somewhere. You couldn't possibly be grossly embellishing what someone wrote, could you?

Stop avoiding the question.    Why is SC's situation so unique?  Why shouldn't they even be considered for the playoff if they lose another game?   You said THAT, right?

I already answered the question, it's a small thread, you can find the answer.

You're saying I'm avoiding questions? That's great. Every response to my question is you trying to change the subject.

South Carolina got beat up at home. There's no reason they should be considered if they end up with 2 losses.

Oklahoma has an important game this week. Alabama only beat WV by 10, so it'll be good for them to try and pack on points to have a good margin of victory.
This was it, right?   They got beat up at home?

Some upsets today. Indiana winning at Missouri. Mississippi State winning at LSU. Utah winning at Michigan (though yet to say if this is really an upset).

Clemson currently beating FSU and Washington State currently beating Oregon (though that one is still very early).

Seriously, if you want to say "Any team that gets hammered at home can't lose another game and expect to be in the playoff", just say it.   I'll disagree but neither of us are on the playoff committee so it doesn't really matter.     I just don't understand why you won't make your position on the matter clear.   You won't be fined, arrested or shot on sight.    It's just an opinion.

1.  FSU-snuck past Clemson without Winston.   Should have lost but found a way to win.
2.  Oregon-barely beat Washington State.   Gave up over 400 yards passing.
3.  Bama-soulcrushed Florida.
4.  Oklahoma-tied at half with WVU.  Won by 12 but gave up almost 400 yards passing.
5.  Auburn-won a close one at Kansas State.   Unimpressive but tough road test.  Marshall missed a lot of receivers.
6.  TAMU-beat up SMU.  Big deal.  Have some real tests on the schedule.
7.  Baylor-off
8.  LSU-lost at home to Miss St.  Great 4th quarter to make it close.  stinenavy eliminates them from playoff contention.
9.  Notre Dame-off
10.  Ole Miss-off

My new top 10:
FSU
Bama
Oregon
Oklahoma

TAMU
Auburn
Baylor
ND
Ole Miss
Stanford

One other random observation.   Aside from not being very good, Michigan has some ugly cheerleaders.

Home losses are a HUGE negative for me.

Notre Dame is a team to watch. Not sure how good they are this season since they haven't played anyone of consequence, but they have Golson after his year suspension and he's got enough talent to put the team on his back.

According to an ESPN playoff forecast, Oklahoma has the best shot of going undefeated (albeit at 22.1%). I don't know if their secondary can hold on for some of their upcoming shoot-outs. That wasn't pretty at all with WV throwing to open receivers at-will.

See?  That wasn't so hard.

Here's why I somewhat disagree.  College teams evolve as the season goes along.   18-19 year olds are slammed with a lot of info that they can't fully digest.   They're playing in front of 80,000 people for the first time.   They're playing against athletes who are as good or better than them for the first time.  So, while I think home losses are horrible, I'm willing to forgive one early in the season if A) it's against a quality opponent and B) they have the opportunity to "make up" for it by beating quality opponents.

SC got hammered by TAMU.  TAMU appears to be a quality opponent.   SC had GA, Mizzou at home and Auburn, FL, Clemson on the road.
LSU, also using a lot of 1st time starters, lost at home to Miss St.  LSU has Auburn, FL, TAMU on the road and Ole Miss, Bama at home.

I think both of them could mature and be "in the hunt" if they can somehow run the table and reach the SEC championship.  Unlikely but possible.

Ohio State lost to VaTech at home(who lost to ECU and GaTech at home).   Problem is they only have one quality team on the schedule.   And that team lost to Oregon.   I just don't see how their loss can be excused.

I'll add that FSU is not one of the 4 best teams in the nation without Winston.    If, and it seems likely, he does something dumb and gets suspended at the end of the season, they should not be in the playoff.   And, with ND the only threat on the schedule, they should go undefeated.
