Double Mendoza S24 - FULL Topic

Double Mendoza is a very competitive league -- we had several division and Wild Card races come down to the last game -- with a solid core of owners. We've got a brand new blog with open franchise profiles, and an energetic group of owners. We have six four ONE opening, so please SiteMail me your interest and we can get rolling. First come, first serve!

League Rules:
  1. Salary restrictions: Player payroll budget must not exceed $100m.
  2. Minimum Win Requirement: Owners losing 200+ total games over the course of two consecutive seasons will be given the boot. An owner's first season does not count toward this total.

We are a fun, competitive world, and because of the combination of the MWR and salary cap we rarely see franchises dropping too far below the 100 loss mark. That said, first year owners are exempt from the removal rule, so while these rules are designed to create a level playing field, new owners see a big advantage at the outset – you’ve got three seasons to make your mark rather than two!

Send me a Site Mail with any questions. Check out the available franchises below!

TAKEN
NL North, S23 New York: 67-95, 5th pick in the upcoming draft. Solid team that is getting up there in age and was the victim of a one-and-done owner. Still some gas left in the tank, and with some smart free agent signings it could potentially be a 90 win team with a top 5 draft pick. Alternatively, there are some assets to trade if you want to go full rebuild.

TAKEN NL North, S23 St. Louis: 78-84, 18th pick. .500ish team with a pretty young roster -- 16 of 22 ML spots held by players under 30, including 3 players rated 80 OVR.

NL South, S23 Monterrey: 86-76, 23rd pick in the upcoming draft. Top team in a very winnable division, has had some recent college draft picks that could push the team into 90-to-95 win territory soon. We typically have pretty active free agency periods so with a few good additions you could almost guarantee this team as a playoff team.

TAKEN NL South, S23 Jackson: 53-109, 1st pick. This team has picked 6 or better in three straight drafts, four including this one. Very good minor league system, in a season or two this team could be playoff ready.

TAKEN AL East, S23 Huntington: 58-104, 2nd pick. A prime rebuild candidate. They have one pretty good pitcher who's 24 years old, but other than that their Major League cupboards are pretty bare.

TAKEN AL East, S23 San Juan: 77-85, 15th pick. This is an interesting franchise -- they've had ONE owner in all 23 seasons of Double Mendoza's existence, so there's been really good consistency here. Several players are hitting arbitration, so this roster has a ton of flexibility.

TAKEN AL East, S23 Boston: 93-69, 28th pick in the upcoming draft. Top team in the AL East, third-best record overall in the AL, and currently playing in the LCS. Team on the rise -- after three straight sub-70 win seasons, a young core shot this team into contention.

TAKEN NL West, S23 Boise: 89-73, 27th pick in the upcoming draft. Very good team with a great young core. This team has been managed very well and is built to win now.

Yeah that new blog alone shows what kind of league this is turning into.  This last season was the most competitive yet and it's only getting better!

The league has a solid core group of owners.  Pajammies is doing a fantastic job as Commish.  This is a well run world; once you join you'll be glad you did.

Not many leagues have a salary cap.  The $100 million cap in this league fosters a competitive environment and forces you to strategize regarding which players to sign and for how long.
