First time making one of these as I am unaccustomed to having a high pick, in this case #2.
I have 16M college scouting and only see three potential picks for this spot: a 2B, a CF, and a C. All are 19 years old and are willing to take slot money.
Here are the projections I see:

#1 - 2B, B/T R/R
Dur/Health: 92/100
Fielding: 79/84/61/63
Hitting: 83/47/93/85/84
Spd/BR: 82/59
Patience/Makeup: 69/88

#2 - CF, B/T L/L
Dur/Health: 81/67
Fielding: 87/84/67/60
Hitting: 61/89/66/72/68
Speed/BR: 66/79
Patience/Makeup: 93/78

#3 - C, B/T R/R
Dur/Health: 73/84
Fielding: 16/26/72/70/47
Hitting: 87/94/78/77/87
Speed/BR:  33/49
Patience/Makeup: 84/48

One of my initial thoughts after seeing the draft prospects list was to punt to next season, but there is no one close to the top who is a signing risk that I would gamble on them not taking the first offer.
Right now I am leaning towards the CF. While I would love the bat of the catcher, I am not a fan of the low PC and have a NL team. The 2B looks like a very good OBP guy but it seems much easier to find good offense at 2B than it is at CF.

Catcher and trade him to an AL team.

I'd draft the C. His PC is workable IMO.

Catcher.  And, if he doesn't develop enough to catch, I stick him in RF.

I think you'd be happy with all 3. Assuming they hit those projections you'd either have an ideal 2 hole hitter, potential MVP, a potential gold glove CF w/ enough power to hit 30 homers, or one of the best hitting catchers in your world, with enough arm strength and accuracy to limit the opponents stolen bases, so I don't think you can really go wrong.

However, take a look at their current ratings and determine which one is most likely to meet or perhaps even exceed your current draft scouting at key ratings, and which ones are more pie in the sky. Then take the guy that is most likely to meet those ratings.

all being equal, I agree with Mike, I'd take the catcher, as I think he gives you the most value in a potential short playoff series, but I don't think you can go wrong in the long haul with any of these guys as a fixture in your 8 man lineup.

I discarded the CF because I'm thinking he doesn't get 87 range.   If he tops out at 82, he's a liability in CF(IMO, of course).    Now you've got a GG-type LF who certainly carries a LF bat but you can do better.    I'm a little skeptical of fast guys with mediocre BR(like the 2B).    Beyond that, I just prefer the bigger bat.

If the C played any other position, with that bat, this wouldn't be a question. Amirite?

I have had some top 10 picks, but it has been about 3 RL years since I have had a pick in the Top 3. With a Top 3 pick, the wish would be to land a future HOFer which is why I am trying to be careful with this one.

FYI:  The current range on the CF is 75, so 87 or close to it seems possible with a 19 year old.

damag, absolutely.  Hell, if his PC projected in the 50s, I probably would not have asked either.
