Because "do nothing" is usually not a good deterrent against future actions.
A) What action?
B) what would be a good deterent?

Will he buy tickets for all my family?  Popcorn, too?
I think he's paying for the tix.   Popcorn is your responsibility.

Maybe we can just go to war with them. That should solve everything. We've already sanctioned them into oblivion.

Details are still murky. Maybe we can go into it like we dove into Iraq over faulty intelligence.
I don't know if there is a good solution.   Glad I'm not the POTUS.    It's sort of up to him to figure it out.

A)  Um, future threats?
B)  I've already said that I don't know.  Something more than "do nothing" and less than "thernonuclear war".

With great power comes great responsibility.

If being President was nothing more than signing a few papers, no one would care who's the President.

We've already done a lot on the "non-war" scale. The next step that comes to mind would be violent.

It seems we're not sure if it's definitely North Korea yet.  A few "experts" are saying that they don't have the capabilities to do this.  It wouldn't shock me if this turned out to be China pretending to be North Korea.

Honestly, I didn't follow much of it but wasn't it just the hacking of accounts of some Hollywood-types?   Pretty sure NK can find someone to hack computers.

No, let's just go to the movies like the POTUS said.

Some guy who used to be in the group Anonymous, so he knows about this sort of thing, says it would take a lot of time and resources to do this, and NK likely doesn't have those capabilities.  Heard that somewhere else too. But what the hell does he know about what NK can or cant do? They did build a nuclear weapon.

Also, I'd hope the president would be absolutely sure it was NK before he took a "next step."

I get what he's saying. There's no credible threat, continue to live your lives the way you would have.

Yes, one would hope that.    Even though I don't know what the "next step" should be.

As would I.  We don't want or need a repeat of Iraq.

Who else could it be besides DPROK?  If it is a Sony ex-employee, they would pick a blockbuster to hack, not a stupid Seth Rogan movie.

To straighten out DPROK, you talk to the country that holds their leash and tell them to get their dog under control.  But Obama is too dumb to understand the first thing about foreign policy.

...of course, since we are so much in debt to the handler, thanks to the reckless borrowing that Obama has done in the past 6 years, we are on a leash to China too.
