Nolan Ryan Exclusive Tribute League Full Topic

this should be fun league.  I ran it once in the simmed leagues and tried unsuccessfully to run it recently once again.  However, it should be fun in a live setting too.  Here are the simple rules.

Choose one of Nolan Ryan's seasons and use players from that year as his teammates for your exclusive season.  Since Nolan had such a long career, there are many good seasons to choose from.  The only rule is that you have Nolan on your active team all season.  Stadiums for your chosen year are all available.

Seasons available are 1968-1993.  First come, first served.  I will choose a season after 10 owners have joined so we can get a league number.

Salary cap is $100 million.  No to DH/trades/waiver wire.  There will be 6/2 avg AAA with real names.  40 live games to make the playoffs

Alignment will be in order of year alternating through the divisions so that the team with the earliest season will be in division 1, next season in division 2 and so on so that there will be as much diversity of years as possible in each division.

I hope that you can all join and let's have some fun in a different live league.

I select 1972 ... Nolan Ryan had a decent season ... So did Steve Carlton, Gaylord Perry and Don Sutton ... A few guys at a decent price with multiple skills- good bats, good gloves, and good speed- like Joe Morgan, Cesar Cedeno, and Roy White

Welcome riverratk!  '86 is yours

Riverratk: 1986 is a good year too. I had it once in MVP/Cy Young/ROY player league. NL MVP Mike Schmidt was great. Mike Scott and Roger Clemens were awesome. But Teddy Higuera gave out too many HR's and consequently lost many games with him. Bob Ojeda or Mike Witt may be better picks. ...

Szczu: Love the 70's! .... 76 starting pitchers like Randy Jones (used successfully about a year ago), Tom Seaver, and Mark Fridych should supplement Ryan real well ... Overall good position players like Joe Morgan, Cesar Cedeno, Rod Carew, and George Brett also had good years ...

That's why I like these tribute leagues with players that had played 24+ seasons so that we can have a nice range of players and all are exclusive for those years.
