They didn't start using 23 man rosters until the mid-1990's. For the teams that only have 20 man rosters you can use any 3 players from your year under $1,000,000 to fill your roster and send them down.
This doesn't work for me. I have three guys who will be injured for probably 16 games and 2 x 8. No ML? and all I can take is a million dollar spare? Other years allow a real good player for maybe 3 mill, and I have 8 mill left.. tinkering with the 1990 Wales but not claiming it yet.. So why not 3 million apiece for any players from the year I have to 4 years ahead?? Something like that. No way I can go with a 900g D man if Chelios is out for like 20 g
Either that or let us draft any 3 guys from that year as our spares. I think that will work. Cap them at 5 M if you want
