Why you may ask? Well for starters we're a long-standing world, steeped in tradition that's been going strong since June of 2006. I know merging has become the popular thing here as of late- mostly out of necessity- but here we have a group of core owners invested in keeping our history intact. So instead of making history every season, you'd also have a chance to chase it. Can you scout and draft the hitter who's going to rundown Rudy Aldridge's 822 career homeruns or the pitcher who will top David Lugo's 271 career wins? Can you build the team that takes down the five time, and reigning World Series Champion Indianapolis Lancers?

While we don't have a rules and restrictions on how you run your franchise, we do have a very manageable minimum win requirement to help things fair. We're never had an owner not meet the requirements during my tenure as the Commissioner except for a few that have taken over abandoned teams midseason to help us out. Our World chat is friendly and largely drama free, and we have a lot of veteran owners who have proven willing in the past to help out someone learning the game.

So if you're looking for a solid world to join, look no further... it's Alexander

Claimed Franchise: Former Nashville Seraphs
Last Year: 53-109, 4th place in AL South
Draft Position: 2nd overall

This franchise isn't as bad as it's record would indicate. Last year CF Tomas Alacantra hit a solid .301 and LF Jarrod Wood hit 36 big flies to help power a respectable offense. Both players will return for this coming season, and some real solid hurlers will also be in the fold. Plus you'd be armed with the second overall draft choice to help build for your future.

Claimed Franchise: Former Pittsburgh Pirates
Last Year: 68-94, 4th place in NL North
Draft Position: 7th overall

Pittsburgh needs a committed owner willing to step in and oversee a rebuild through. Last season saw former 1st round pick Yorrick Hahn make his major league debut, playing in 26 games down the stretch. Down on the farm another former 1st round pick, Jerrod Garland, jacked 31 homeruns and picked up 101 steaks for the AA Pirates; and is ready to make the jump to the bigs. The pitching is thin on this team, though. There's much work to do be done if you enjoy a challenge.

Claimed Franchise: Former Colorado Springs Fundamentals
Last Year: 71-91, 4th place in NL West
Draft Position: 9th overall

Colorado Springs has some quality players already on it's Major League club. Twenty-eight year old Davy Johnson might have been miscast last season as a 2B, but he carries a big stick; hitting 49 homeruns and driving in 115 runs. Tony Abe, a 24 year old International free agent signing is waiting in the wings down in AAA to take over RF at anytime now. Plus there's also 22 year old SS Davy Perez- another former International free agent signing- sitting in AA, working his way up through the minors.

Available Franchise: Former Louisville Sluggers
Last Year: 77-86, 3rd place in NL South
Draft Position: 14th overall

The aptly named Sluggers are loaded with bats, and a pair of 25 year olds (Bubba Hill & Gerald Pecina) are locking down the backend of games from the bullpen. The starting pitching is razor thin however. If you brought in a pitcher or two via trade or free agency you might have a playoff contender here, though.

Claimed Franchise: Former Ottawa Rough Riders
Last Year: 88-74, 2nd place in the NL North *Playoff team
Draft Position: 23rd overall

This storied franchise is one of the winningest clubs in Alexander's history. It's led by the reigning NL MVP, 1B Corky Ramsey; and his blistering .344 average, 50 long balls and 148 RBIs. Yovani Santiago, Carl Valentin and Alex Martinez anchor a deep and talented starting staff. Twenty-six year old Gus Kyung is devastating out of the pen. All of the ingredients for a championship run are there If you want to manage it.

Claimed Franchise: Former Columbus Small Ballers
Last Year:100-62, 1st place in the AL East *Playoff team
Draft Position: 30th overall

How often do you get the chance to purchase a ready made World Series team? Well here's one. Last season saw the Small Ballers come up a little short of winning the trophy, but the pieces are there to go deep again.
