Yes, and they actually have some decent bats (of course, the whole AL was hitting a ton in that decade)...which tells you just how bad the pitching must have been.

OK, I'm going to be extra devious, and hope for the best. I'm going to give Schwarze Mike Griffin's 1897 season which is 782 PAs. Gee, I hope nothing happens to make that difficult.

I'm going to have to wait to give finn his park until I know which decade schwarze is giving him.

And I'll give fatboydad the joy that is the 1950s KC Athletics
Deja Vu all over again.

I already have my team name...K C and the Sunshine Band...That's the way...the way I like it...uh huh...uh huh.

I am in but still trying to figure out my player. Question: if a player has a split season amongst several teams, is it required that the person choosing his season pick which exact season he is selecting?

Kid Nichols....working on the other parts

Based on page 1, just the year and you get to pick the version

I'm in.

My player will be Eddie Plank. I'll go figure out the rest in a couple minutes.
F'ing Eddie Plank, he's always good....we'll go 1914 and his .274 OAV#

Kingdome for Schwartz...that should help him get the PA he needs.

I hope this doesn''t back fire but the 60's Angels for Finn....they fit Hilltop well.
5/8/2015 11:30 PM
Ok. I think I got this.

Trentonjoe gets 1894 KId Nichols and his 500 IP's at .276 OAV#
jfranco gets the Baker Bowl
scwarze can have the 1980's San Diego Padres

And he can have them without Tony Gwynn. I'll be taking him.

I said alright you twerps.

My franchise man: Big Ed Reulbach, in honor of Big Len, of course. Or, of the disorder for little blue pills, whichever may apply.

Yeah, whatever.

Awesome group of owners have joined this in the first 12 hours.  Welcome all!

Arlen needs to select a park for Trentonjoe and a franchise/decade for jfranco77.

I will send the league number to owners as they join.  Once you have your franchise/decade, you can start building your team, but keep in mind that an owner who joins later could always nab an exclusive player from your franchise/decade.  So check back often and prepare to be flexible.

The 80s Padres w/o Gwynn is brilliant.....great job.

As you can see, there is a lot of strategy in this league.  And every team will have some pretty significant obstacles to overcome.  If you're looking for something very different from the typical all-star league, why not give this a try?

In case it's helpful, here's a link to the complete list of parks available in theme leagues.  It includes a number of parks that aren't available in OLs.
